Serving in a wide variety of roles, from humble beginnings as a foot bobby in uniform, through vice and drugs to more senior posts as senior investigating officer, head of training and coordinator for political party conferences, he developed a reputation as a speaker, event host and compere for both police and partner agency events. On retirement from policing, already an accomplished after-dinner and keynote speaker on leadership and management, he developed an enduring interest in stand-up comedy. When not travelling across the UK making people laugh, he can often be found speaking in schools to young people on the verge of exclusion and criminal exploitation.'
