11. Learn Hard Things
from POK EXPERIENCE · host Olawumi Kolawole
Learn Hard Things There’s a saying that if you want to make money, solve a problem, and if you want to make more money, solve more problems. The ideology is that to make money, you have to solve a problem, and the gravity of the problem you solve and the people facing the problem determines how much money you will have. This is similar to the idea pushed by Cal Newport in his book Deep Work that the people that make more money are the people who can quickly learn new tools and technology that looks difficulties to understand because they become sort after and they also make money from teaching others. 90This is why I am saying to you today, learn hard things, now, you will what is hard? Hard can be relative because what is easy for me can be hard for you, however, anything we do that pushes us to do some intellectual thinking or push us a little beyond our level of intellect or physical capacity is hard! Whatever makes you stretch a little more is jard! Learning hard things helps you stay humble, helps you appreciate your growth and it helps you acknowledge the growth of others that are ahead of you. This makes you value the efforts of others. Learning hard things is a way to keep challenging ourselves and staying fresh as the world evolves. GYLT M2S
