Pursuing your passions is in and of itself, a challenge.  Having to deal with losing friends, being rejected by someone you wanted to pursue a relationship with, and the resulting loneliness makes your pursuit an even more difficult endeavour.  Overcoming these difficulties, and ultimately thriving in spite of them, is what I learned from my conversation with JC.
