I’m sitting down with Gabi Powel to discuss her journey to becoming a professional long driver. Listen in as she traces her athletic roots from competitive sports in her school years, to playing Division One golf, to finishing second in her very first Long Drive Tour in 2022. We talk about the ins and outs of a Long Drive event, from the competition format, to the decisions that go into choosing a driver of the right length for the competitor, to the secret to getting the most drive distance out of your swing as possible. Finally, Gabi discusses her other exciting pursuits, from a golf reality show currently in the pipeline to her work as co-founder of Forward Tees Foundation. This mentorship program offers one-on-one support, allowing young women to learn directly from those who have experienced success in the world of college golf.   About Gabi Powel: Gabi Powel competed in her first Long Drive event in 2022, where she advanced to the finals and finished the year with a Top 8 finish in the championships. In 2023, Gabi broke into the Top 5 for the first time in her career and now sits at #5 in the rankings.
