This week is Holy Week...a time for Christians to reflect on Jesus’ sacrifice, death, and resurrection, marking the transition from Lent to Easter and celebrating the core of Christian salvation. And HOLY WEEK has a lot to say about the hope and direction of your marriage!

About 60% of marriages are still together, but that doesn’t mean they are thriving.

For the remaining 40% of marriages, they have spent the cash, filed for divorce, and are most likely having custody issues over the kids. Divorce is vicious.

A few stats…

How would you describe your marriage?

  • Is it thriving?
  • Do you feel like your marriage is on it’s last breath?
  • Has it “flatlined”?
  • Is it in the GRAVE?
  • Are you ready to give up?

There’s still hope… and the resurrection of Jesus proves it…

[Eph 5:25-28 NIV]

[25] Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her [26] to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, [27] and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. [28] In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

3 essential perspectives that Scripture gives us to have realistic expectations for our marriage — (RE: Paul David Tripp book | What Did You Expect: Redeeming the Realities of Marriage)

  1. You are conducting your marriage in a fallen world.
  2. You are a SINNER married to a SINNER
  3. God is faithful, powerful and willing
