112. Healthcare Burnout and A Crazy Story About Emotional Resiliency with Megan Daley

from Ready To Rise · host Audrey Rose

Dr. Megan: Life & Burnout Coach, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Educator, Author, Speaker who is helping healthcare workers get out of the burnout rut they often face.  When asked, Who is Megan?? She replies:I am a seasoned physical therapist, Olympic weightlifter, overcomer, and freedom catalyst who believes in 2 major things: (1) movement is medicine and (2) everyone deserves to live the life of their dreams. Beyond the physical movement that I’ve been known for for a decade, I implement pivotal emotional and mindset exercises in all of my offerings through Move on the Daley to help driven adults flourish. I am passionate about paying it forward and helping female professionals discover who they eff they are and create healthier management strategies pursuing their current field or exploring new paths they’ve only dreamt of. I am a "free bird" who loves travel, food, adventures in the outdoors, my fiancé, Andris, and Corgi, Jinx. Currently living in Scottsdale, AZ, but catch me on the slopes all next winter!I recently met Megan at an event out of state, after having been at other events together but not bumping into each other.  Let me tell you- she is an amazing individual with just as amazing sense of style!! Within minutes of meeting her, I KNEW she was a great guest speaker on the podcast to come in and provide SO MUCH value!!! Burnout is near and dear to my heart, as you know, and she's going to give it to us straight up!! What does it look like, why you are more burned out than you think, and how to get out of it.  On her way home from the event, she had a scare that I pray I never have to go through.  I asked her if she would share her vulnerable story with us, and how she got through it differently now that she has practiced many ways to regulate her nervous system.  It is quite a story! Episode Quote: “Practicing the tools that I learned…I want to then give the tools to people…in order to build up the (emotional) resiliency to function in a crisis situation and be able to calm my nervous system down enough to take action.  "She said after the traumatic event she actually felt the need to move… THIS IS a huge TOOL for you to learn about!!!!  A way to “shake” trauma off.  “Move in whatever way feels natural to you” because the energy needs to move through your body.   Self Love Tip:Schedule yourself into your calendar FIRST - and don’t move those blocksFind Megan at: @moveonthedaley +  links for freebies, course, & mentorship are all at moveonthedaley.com/linkinbioHer journal is here on amazon Are you READY for some FREE Burnout Resources??!!!
