118. Carol Fishman Cohen - Relaunching a Career After a Break

from Enlightenment of Change · host Connie Whitman

Connie's Inspiring quote is by ~ Socrates   "The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new."   Have you taken a break from work? Not just a month or two but a real time-out maybe it was to be a stay-at-home mom or to care for an older family member. Whatever your reason, re-entering the workforce after a long break can be not only hard but also intimidating. Time to get real – and brave. During today's episode, my guest is going to share success stories, so you can hear real-life examples of people who have relaunched their career after taking a break., and hit the ground running.   Today your host, Connie Whitman, speaks with Carol Fishman Cohen. Carol is an expert on the whole relaunch process. She is the Chair and Co-founder of iRelaunch, builder of corporate career re-entry programs and leader of the 75,000 person strong iRelaunch, #returntowork community. She is a pioneer in the career re-entry space, and her viral TED talk "How to get back to work after a career break," has over 3 million views and has been translated into 30 languages. And she has walked the walk – My guest relaunched her own career when she returned to work at Bain Capital after an 11-year career break before co-founding iRelaunch. Her relaunch is documented in a Harvard Business School case study. A graduate of Pomona College and Harvard Business School, she lives in greater Boston.   Website: www.iRelaunch.com 3,2,1 iRelaunch podcast – see episode 6 Dave Carty, 59 Liz Brown, 66 Dawna Levenson: https://www.irelaunch.com/podcast   Resource Links:  Teaching and non-teaching jobs in academia: www.hercjobs.org Anti-money laundering certificate program: https://www.acams.org/aml-certifications/ iRelaunch Return to Work Conferences 2020 – Chicago/New York/Boston: https://www.irelaunch.com/rtwabout The post Relaunching a Career After a Break appeared first on WebTalkRadio.net.
