Chatting about women in business over 55 Today I’m chatting with Wendy Garcarz about her research project around women entrepreneurs. Wendy, who is the founder of The Wendy Effect, can only be described as a 4’ 11” powerhouse! Wendy shares a startling fact taken from the Rose Review, published in 2019, which shows that If women started and scaled businesses at the same rate as men do, we could add £250 billion into our economy. Wendy found this astonishing and something the Government would be interested in. Wendy looked but couldn’t find practical help and support available for women. Plus, she found that the second largest group of women entrepreneurs is over 55s. This intrigued Wendy and led to her to start her research project. The outcome of her research is the ‘The 2024 Wise Women in Business Report’ which is published today. Wendy shares her findings of her research and the launch of her ‘Refirement’ movement.
