12 LESSONS LEARNED IN 2021 JULY: don't do what others expect you to do Hi, this is Anna, and I'm here with the lesson learned, number 7, which is about breaking the concept of doing things that others expect you to do.  I'm sure most of you have heard about the book that Bronnie Ware, a nurse in a terminal palliative care unit, wrote in 2013. It was a book about regrets. She interviewed her patients in their last days to uncover their regrets. I worked as a product manager for over ten years, selling breast prostheses to women with breast cancer. Fortunately, many women survive and beat breast cancer. But not all do. I was close to some of them, and they would call me to ask me to come and visit one last time. I was only in my twenties, and those farewells were hard on me. But these women taught me about life. Bronnie Ware was right about the regrets of the dying. Two of them I would like to mention today. The first is:  I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.The second is: I wish that I had let myself be happier. A little outtake: "Say that phrase: I wish that I had let myself be happier. Imagine saying this at the end of your life. But today, it isn't. Your life goes on. Today is one day out of your life, and you could try it. What do you need to do to be happy today without changing your plans? Are you at work? What could make you happy? Order a fancy meal for lunch? Have a cup of coffee with a colleague? Call your favourite client and thank them for the excellent collaboration? These are just small steps. The significant steps are the questions about your work, relationships, health concepts, and activities. Are you at the right place, or are you one day going to regret that you did not change the situation you are in right now?" Adios amigos, until tomorrow with lesson no. 8, about winning and losing. By the way; please subscribe to the Newsletter and in the future, you will get all the audio versions also in written form.     The Member's Club CHECK IT OUT How about some hashtags for once: #standyourground #speakyourtruth #speakout #breakthestigma #intentionalliving #sayno #chooseyou #chooseyourself #boundaries #boundariesarehealthy  #life #strong #happy #healthy #peace #harmony  #mindset #powerofthemind #nopromises #mindshift #selfgrowthjourney #liveyourpurpose #mindsetiskey #positiveminds #motivationeveryday #gratitudeattitude #trustyourjourney #pursueyourpassion #purposedrivenlife #abundancemindset #personaldevelopment

JULY: don’t do what others expect you to do

Hi, this is Anna, and I’m here with the lesson learned, number 7, which is about breaking the concept of doing things that others expect you to do.  I’m sure most of you have heard about the book that Bronnie Ware, a nurse in a terminal palliative care unit, wrote in 2013. It was a book about regrets. She interviewed her patients in their last days to uncover their regrets. I worked as a product manager for over ten years, selling breast prostheses to women with breast cancer. Two of them I would like to mention today. The first is:  I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.The second is: I wish that I had let myself be happier. A little outtake:

“Say that phrase: I wish that I had let myself be happier.

Imagine saying this at the end of your life. But today, it isn’t. Your life goes on. Today is one day out of your life, and you could try it. What do you need to do to be happy today without changing your plans? Are you at work? What could make you happy? Order a fancy meal for lunch? Have a cup of coffee with a colleague?
