125: Being Fully Present

from MUVE Forward · host Michelle Wolfe

I’ve noticed recently that many people are in a mindset of focusing on what's going to happen after the quarantine instead of focusing on the present moment. I want to dive into this topic today to shed some light if this is you, because learning to be in the present moment - and more importantly - enjoying the present moment, is so important for our overall well-being and health.First of all, let's chat about what being present means. In a broad sense, being present means fully enjoying the moment you are in, and having a sense of calm and focus within those moments. One of the reasons it's so important to focus on the now, is that it pulls you away from feelings of fear, regret, or other emotions that don’t serve you well. And ultimately, this helps us with our general health and feeling better physically, emotionally, and mentally. On today’s episode we dive into:How to create healthy habits around being present in general: meditate, set your intentions each day, reflect on your day and what went well and what you would like to improve on, find guidance from a coach or loved one, journal, visualizing your goals, do a full body scan etc.Being present when eating; food tastes better and we don’t over eat, cravings become obvious and much easier to overcomeHow to use being present to have better work outs and have increased focus while you work.Tips on how to get out of replaying the what-ifs and instead, focus on the things you love and enjoy. So warriors, you can continue to follow in the wallowing footsteps of the majority right now, or you can pay attention to your body. This is the perfect time to do something or create something you’ve been wanting to! It's going to take practice to tune into your body and mind, but when you can master this practice, it's going to serve you much better than those negative thought patterns. Also warriors … Mark your calendars! Next week on Tuesday, April 21st at 12:30 PM EST I will be hosting a FREE Facebook Live class.
