When I interviewed Jake, he was one day removed from playing a show with Jake Langley of Handguns (this was before Handguns pt 2 ) so we had lots to talk about. Ikana have been laying claim to the term Southwest Emo and in this wide ranging conversation Jake Davis makes a strong case for Ikana to be considered THE southwest emo band. We talk his norcal origins, the state of the San Diego scene today vs. when I was involved many moons ago, as well as our favorite local spots for shows and burritos.
