Being an Alternative Black person basically means employing or following non-traditional and non-conventional ideas.Honestly, I was still in a bit of denial until I found my community at AfroPunk Brooklyn. I felt a level of comfort and confidence that I never realized I was missing. When I came back to work I recognized my anomalous assets could serve me well in my work environment. An Anomalous Asset, as FTBW defines, is any personal preference that is considered outside of the cultural/stereotypical norm that enables you to better maneuver in predominantly white professional circles, i.e. Corporate America.
