130. How Do You 'Be Nice to Me' in the Face of Domestic Violence? | Brenda Ballantine

Welcome to Episode 130 of the Warrior Words podcast!   When this week's guest, Brenda Ballantine, asked me what day it was while we were recording, she caught me a little off guard. But I think that was the design. When I said that it was Tuesday, she said it was also "Be Nice to Me" day. Do we know how to do that? Do we actually know how to be nice to ourselves? So often, we beat ourselves up when God just wants us to know how much He loves us. Yes, we make mistakes - sometimes marry the wrong spouse or stay in an abusive situation. Yes, we sin - sometimes we stray from our marriages or do things that work against them. Brenda did these things and thought God was mad at her. She beat herself up. On top of the abuse she endured when her former husband beat her up. But there's a thread throughout her story ~ one of beauty; Our Lord weaved something beautiful out of the sometimes ugly life she was living.
