130: SLY JULY: Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot

from The Radkast · host Steven Webster and Matt Webster

This week, it's another entry in Sly July! On this episode, we talk a movie that Sylvester regrets making, and we pretty much regret watching. Stallone plays Joe, a 40 something police officer whose Mom shows up unannouced and starts getting all up in his bitness. What is supposed to be played as charming is anything but. Joe's mom emotionally suffocates him, then plays the victim when Joe asks for space. Joe's mom finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation, which reveals an insurance scam. The main conflict takes a backseat to Joe's mom being an overbearing nuisance. However, we are not to feel bad for Joe, because at the end of the day he's a spineless mama's boy who only proves he can't make any positive momentum in life without her. We'd say we felt sorry for Sly for getting roped into this mess, but he probably got paid more money then we'll see in our life time. So he can wipe his tears with his wad of hundreds, and we'll just suffer through Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot, this week on the Radkast!
