133. Riding the Wave of Grief: 12-Minute Meditation for Teens

from Live Your True Self · host Nemisha Patel Owen

Grief can enter our lives in sudden and unexpected ways. And we get to allow that emotion when it arises. This gentle guided meditation is a safe space for teens to pause, step away from the pressures of daily life and expectations, and acknowledge the weight they are carrying. Whatever form of grief you are navigating, and whether you have practiced meditation before, or this is your first time, you are very welcome here. This practice is open to any teenager who is hurting, offering a moment to just be with what is and gently release. Using the metaphor of riding waves, this 12-minute practice focuses on safety and comfort, rather than trying to "fix" how you feel. It honours your emotions without judgment. What you can expect from this practice: A Grounding Pause: A gentle moment outside of a busy school day and into a space of quiet reflection. Riding the Wave: A calming breath practice designed to help you let big emotions roll through without having to fight them. Gentle Self-Compassion: Permission to let go of the pressure to act strong or pretend you are okay, taking it one breath at a time. Come back to this practice whenever you need a quiet moment to safely ride the waves of your grief. Take a deep breath, and let's connect within.
