Hello! Welcome to Laura Limpod. Us, this, that, this is you. Us, here.

This is a podcast about Laura Limpis, by Rachel Smythe, and the podcast is not by her, the podcast is by me, I'm Zoe, and also you, Erin. Erin is you. You, Erin. You, Erin.

Yes, I'm gesturing. This is a terrible start. Whatever. Anyway, honestly, no, this is good.

We haven't had one that's been this off the rails in, like, a long time. We've had a couple of smooth entries lately, and we need to return to our roots, which is just inscrutable babbling. I feel like when it becomes too much of a well-oiled machine, it's not interesting anymore. Like, I feel like we have to mix it up a little bit, you know?

Yeah, and sometimes that goes poorly, yes. And today, once we finish this introduction, which may take any number of additional minutes, after that, we are talking about Just Chapter 251 today, because there's just a lot to talk about. We're back from a hiatus, and there's, like, Cassandra stuff and whatever. It's a long episode.

We're doing Just 251 today. Next week, we will come back with another full-length episode of 252, because we've got a lot to say as usual. Yay! So, before we get into that, at the start of every episode, we read for you all one of our five-star iTunes reviews.

Okay. Today's five-star iTunes review comes to us from three years ago, so. Great. Zoe, can you fucking believe we've been doing this for three years?

That's really wild. Three and a half, girl. Three and some change. Three and three quarters.

I know. A lot. A lot. Many.

Many. So, this person was a real early adapter. Shout out. We love you.

OG Crew. And their username is, okay, so this is cool. And the title of their five-star review is, I'm in love. And we are in love with you.

We truly are. We truly are in love with you. One of our original five-star iTunes reviews. Yeah, you were there for some nasty-ass episodes.

You were there for some heinous bullshit. Yeah, and this one, content, just all caps, no punctuation till the very end. Thank you so much for making this. I love it!

Exclamation mark, exclamation mark, exclamation mark. Thank you so much for making you. Thank you for being a friend. Travel down the road and back again.

We love you. You're an icon. We love you. Thank you for the review three years ago.

And if you're still listening to this day, God bless you, Godspeed. Wow, we love you a lot. Yeah, because we're not even listening anymore, so. Oh, absolutely, yeah.

All right. Now, that introduction was so good and seamless. And only 16 minutes long. Let's start talking about this comic.

Okay, so, before we dive in, Erin, where did we leave off last episode? You would have thought I saw that question coming? No. At this point.

It was out of left field. At this point, 135 episodes in, you'd think that I would say, oh, I'm prepared for this. But, no. Oh, I remember.

Okay, where we left off was with Pronus possessing Hades' sleeping body. Right. And being like, I'm gonna rip Persephone's head off and also destroy the world. So, fuck you guys.

Stressful, but in a juicy way. In a way I could kind of get behind, you know? Stressful, but not personally traumatizing. Amen.

And that's what we're shooting for. We love that. Yeah. But this episode starts with kind of a flashback, whatever.

So, first it starts with a content warning for violence. So, that will be depicted in our words. Yeah. And then we segue into a previously on Lore Olympus section, where we see back when Psyche and Hephaestus were going through that random flash drive that Apollo dropped one day.

Yeah, like a long time ago. Yeah. A good chunk of episodes ago. But probably, like, yesterday in story.

Right, right, right. Because he's a creepy fuck. And, like, no information, no contact information, no, like, notes. Just, literally, just a JPEG image.

No metadata. Just an incriminating photo taken by this pervy little worm fuckboy. Yes, exactly. But, yeah.

Then we get to the title panel, and it's episode 251. It is you. And we are not immediately doing anything relevant to Cassandra. We are picking up exactly where we left off with Hecate and Electo being like, Cronus, you picked the wrong fucking crew to mess with, you little bitch-ass punk.

Yeah, Hecate is not intimidated by him even a little bit, which I am fucking obsessed with. Yeah, and Electo is, like, behind her, like, boss, I swear to God, let me at him, please. I would fucking love to tear him limb from limb, please, let me. I have been dreaming about this day.

It has fueled my elliptical workouts, please. Amen. And Hecate's just like, hello, Cronus, still a coward, I see. I fucking love it.

And she's talking to Hades' body that's possessed by Cronus and grabbing Persephone. And, like, Hecate is, like, an ancient deity. Like, she's older than all of, like, the Olympian traders. But, like, it's not even, like, I like to pretend in my head canon that Hecate genuinely did know Cronus when he was a little bitch-ass teenager, and she was like, you're a bitch now and you always will be.

Fuck you. Like, it sounds right. Also, like, what can Cronus do to Hecate? Like, she loves chaos, and she's fucking smart and powerful.

So, good luck, dude. And she's still in this outfit that's the bomb.com, just, like, head-to-toe, like, spandex, incredible stuff. And then we, like, zoom in on Hades and Persephone's struggle, and Hades' Cronus is grabbing her from behind. Like, one arm is around her body, and one arm is around her neck.

And they're yelling at each other, and she has red eyes, and he has black eyes. And she's being like, give me back my husband! And he goes, bring me Hera! Oh, I'm sorry, what's his voice?

Oh, it's Troglodyte! It's like, it's Monsters, Inc. Troglodyte! Bring me Hera!

Bring me Hera! Yes! Perfect, perfect. Okay, honestly, Troglodyte was such a helpful cue, because I was thinking Monsters, Inc., but I was like, that's not quite right.

Troglodyte, you're right. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, so they say that, and then she goes, release Tartarus, and he goes, bring me Hera! And she goes, let the interloper go, and he goes, bring me Hera!

The voice is really helpful, honestly, because, like, you hate to see the dedication of him to that bit. You fucking hate to see it, but the Troglodyte voice does help. Yeah, also, like, when Persephone said she likes being choked, this is not what she had in mind, but don't worry, Hades, it's not your fault, baby. Yeah, there was, I'm not gonna lie, there was a part of me that was like, look, this is so bad.

Yeah. And this is not a CNC situation. But if it were. But if it were.

Like, we could take this and adopt it. We could work with it. We could. Yeah.

Use this as a base going forward, if we're all okay with that. Yes, if that's something we're all into, and we know we are in a safe environment, we can then work with it. This isn't it. Yeah.

But, as a launch pad, though, we could just have this in our pocket, okay? So, just moving forward, we'll think about that. Just something to bear in mind, yeah. Also, this is, like, a little out of left field, but at this point, I was like, where the fuck is Zeus in this?

Like, at this point, surely he knows about Cronus' demand to see Hera, and he's like, kept being like, I'm trying to win Hera back, I'm trying to win Hera back, like, I love Hera. Like, why aren't you trying to kick some sense into your father? Like, why aren't you down here, like, doing something, you know? Do you think maybe they haven't told him about it?

I mean, I feel like, I'm sure that no one has, like, directly told him about it, but I feel like everyone knows. I mean, I guess maybe not. Maybe they don't. Like, maybe the underworld people know, and, like, the only people in Olympus who know are Hera and Hesia.

Yeah, I think that's possible. Like, it's not like Hades and Zeus are still doing brunches right now, so. Yeah. Yeah, because, like, I mean, obviously, like, I don't have high expectations for Zeus, but I was like, I do, like, this does kind of seem like the kind of thing where I would expect him to put in a minimum competency level, like, show your face and do something, you know?

If we're going to have a king of the gods, do your fucking job, you idiot. Yeah, yeah. Agreed. Like, are you abdicating or what?

What are you doing? Strongly agreed. Strongly agreed. But he's not here, he's useless as usual.

And Cronus' Hades is being like, if you thought what I did to Hera was bad. And then we, like, he's clearly, like, saying that to start threatening Persephone. Yeah, to be like, I'm going to rip your head off. Yeah.

Exactly. But then we zoom in on him, and it seems like he's, like, struggling against himself almost. Yeah. And we see these, like, gemstones or, like, crystal, like, shards almost ripping through Hades' skin and his shirt, which we have seen happen to Hades under extreme duress before.

Yeah. And, like, I think that was also one of the things when he was, like, trying to get the hang of his powers, this would, like, happen and it was a big problem because it's very painful. Right, right. And then we see this panel that's, like, a dark grayish-blue neutral panel with just, like, a that, like, Hades' consciousness is fighting back against Cronus in the only way it can.

Yeah. That's, that is how I took it, is that it was, like, Hades was, like, you may be suppressing my body, but if there is genuinely, literally one thing this body will not allow, it is for me to tear off Persephone's head. That's going to be a big fucking no. I think, I mean, obviously, Rachel would never make that happen, but, like, if that happened, I literally would stop reading Lore Olympus.

I would be, like, Hades is never coming back from the trauma of doing that. Like, even if Persephone is totally fine, Hades will never forgive himself. Hades barely comes back from this. I know.

I know. That's correct. She would, Rachel would never do it like that. No, no.

Yeah, and I was trying to remember if this was, like, a specific vow he made or something, but I don't, I don't think it, I think it's just, like, him being, like, no, I'm not gonna hurt Persephone, fuck you. Yeah. Yeah, I think so, too. Yeah, and then after he thinks that, more, like, crystal shards start bursting out of his body, like, huge ones, just, like, basically tearing his body apart, and now his eyes are, like, totally white.

Like, tree-sized things. Yeah, yeah. And at some point, Persephone looks like she just, like, passes out, or, like, fake in his arms while he's still holding her, I guess, because she's just being, like, jostled around a lot. Yeah.

And, well, A, it is very sad that Hades has to physically rip his body apart as the only mechanism to stop himself from hurting Persephone. That is very sad. At least he has a god, and he will be fine. But also, I don't think this is just me overthink.

I just need to accept things. I don't totally understand why this works. Like, I don't totally understand why, like, the health of the body that Cronus is operating in affects the connection between him and the body. Like, maybe it's like Hades is, like, making himself pass out so that he doesn't have any consciousness for Cronus to operate in or something.

I think it's that. Yeah. No, that's how I took it as it was, like, oh, I will, like, I will genuinely, like, attempt to, like, eviscerate my body to such an extent that there is nothing for you to hold on to. Yeah.

Like, we will be going out with the Sunday morning trash. Like, you will not be doing this. Yeah. Honestly, I love that energy, Hades.

I know. I mean, I'm very sad for you, but, like, that is correct. That is objectively correct. Like, 10 out of 10 performance on this, baby.

I love this. Like, I hate this for you. This sucks. This is terrible.

And also, I just hate the idea of things growing out of a person that is terrible. Yeah. However, excellent work. I'm very proud of you.

Yes. This is very Wolverine of you. This is very good. I love it.

You have done excellent work, my son. Yes. Yes. Agreed.

And my daddy. All of you love. Amen. And we see these fucking crystal things, like, yeah, they're coming out of Haiti's back.

They're going through the walls. Not only are they through the walls, they are through the exterior of the skyscraper. And they are, like, the size of buildings. Like, they're fucking big.

Yeah. They're massive. Like, it's, like, imagine, like, imagine having everything you ever dreamed. Don't you want it?

I'm sorry. I just couldn't let that one go. No, that was good. Thank you.

I was just saying, it looks like the top of the building has been, like, speared through with other buildings. Like, yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Totally. So, just another great security breach for these towers. Perfect. Love that.

Let's leave this one up for, I don't know, 10 years. Maybe see how that goes. Could be fun. Could be fun.

Thank God Hecate is here. Thank God there's an adult in the building. Yes. Because Hecate is immediately, like, get them down.

Get them down. And she's, like, yelling, directing people. Because, like, when we scroll down, we see that Hades and Persephone are now, like, suspended by this horrible cage of all of these beautiful crystals that have come out of Hades' body. And they're both, like, seemingly just unconscious.

Yeah. It is very horrific. And it's also interesting, like, I feel like when we saw these crystals before, they were basically all blue and pink. But now this time, there's, like, a big variety.

There's, like, blue and pink and red and orange and green. Yeah. Pulling out all the stops, I guess. I guess.

Which, yeah. Do. Yeah. Yeah.

Don't half-ass this. If we're going for this maneuver, we need to full-ass this maneuver. Definitely. And you know what?

Well done, Hades. Yes. And also, like, if you zoom on their faces, Persephone looks like she's just unconscious. And Hades looks so actively miserable, even in being passed out.

But also probably unconscious. Yeah. Yeah. And then we scroll down, and now we're in, like, a bedroom where Hades is recovering, and he's all bandaged up, like, his arms and chest and neck and stuff.

Yeah. Though, honestly, it could have been worse. I'm glad Rachel let us still have his sexy chest and shoulders. Honestly, thank God.

Thank you, Rachel, for the pecs. Thank you for the chest. Always so generous. We are so grateful for what you give to us.

Yes. Amen. Amen. Yeah.

And we just see him, like, slowly wake up. And we see, like, he turns over, and right on the side of the bed, of course, is Persephone looking very concerned. Yeah. And wearing what at first looks like an ascot.

I know. It's a bandage around her neck. Yeah. And only fucking Persephone would be able to take a, I got strangled bandage and make it look fashion forward.

Yeah. Or, like, maybe it is just an ascot that she's just trying to not let Hades see her bruise. Whatever the situation is, she looks great for someone who's just choked nearly to death. Yeah.

And then suspended by, like, bloody crystals. Yeah. Yeah. You know?

She's doing great. And she's going, you're awake. How are you feeling? And in classic Hades fashion, the first thing he says is, let me see you, because he's concerned about Persephone.

Yeah. And he, like, reaches for her bandage and or ascot. And she's like, Hades. And he's like, please let me see.

Yeah. And she takes it off. And she does have, like, a handprint bruise around her neck. Yeah.

But she's saying it wasn't you. Which it wasn't. Yeah. It wasn't.

And her bruises are, like, green. Yeah. It looks like her undertones are just demeanor skin color almost. And Hades looks at them with an expression that might as well be saying out loud, can I please voluntarily rip my body apart at least ten more times?

Yes. He literally, like, the facial expression on this colorful cartoon man is, like, conveying so fucking much. Like, he's like, I am about to throw up with, like, raw anguish. Yes.

Anguish is like, right? It's like, grief, regret, anger, shame. To feast on, like, a weird vulture. If that's an option.

I volunteered to take Prometheus' place. I deserve it. It is where I belong. It's been nice of him to keep it warm for me, but I must go now.

Yes. And then they're kind of holding each other. And he gets up and he's like, if you want to leave, I'll understand. Which I think is very, like, that's amazing that he's able to get there immediately.

And I also think it's a fair question. Like, even if it wasn't him. Totally. Yeah.

Totally. Especially because this has now happened multiple times. And, like, it would be fair for Persephone to say, I love you and I want to be with you someday. But while this is happening, this can't be my relationship.

Yeah. It's also fair for her to want to stay, but, you know, it's a valid question. It's all just tough. Persephone is so just loving and she just like kisses him and like lays him back down and says, that's the stress of the day talking.

Know that I love you and you're stuck with me forever, which is a very good response. And then they like embrace and Hades is crying going, I'm so glad you're here. Yeah, well. And we get to see that his back is fortunately not harmed.

So let those back muscles show, honey. You know, while we're here, while you're shirtless, let's cheer everyone up a little. Why don't we off? Give us a show.

Give us a twirl. Do you got anything on the bottom half? And if not, you don't have to. You just write yourself.

Yeah. It's just us here. We're just friends. We're all friends.

I think a little light exercise would be good for your recovery, actually. I actually couldn't agree more. Can you pick up something heavy for me? Yes.

And then these are the specific lines from Henry Cavill's character in The Witcher that we'd like you to say out loud. Yeah, no, that's perfect. Yeah. And also you have to do the voice.

So obviously. I assume Hades' voice just is like that. Agreed. I also assume that is just his voice.

Just the maximally sexy voice. That's it. Done. That's it.

That's it. I really come around to Rachel's fan casting of Henry Cavill as Hades. I'm really on that shit now. I am absolutely pro-fan casting Henry Cavill as literally any male character I'm even slightly attracted to.

Yes. Perfectly. And also a character that I'm only mildly attracted to is about to become a character I'm extremely attracted to. Yep.

Agreed. Agreed. Oh, God. Yeah.

But anyway. Yeah. So Hades and Persephone are hugging and lying down together and she's being like, my love, what happened? You can tell me everything or nothing at all if that's what you need.

And they're just like snuggling and she's like lying all across his chest, which I'm glad that doesn't hurt. Maybe he's like, it does hurt and I deserve it. Punish me. Please, mistress.

But alternatively, though, like she is such just an incredibly small percentage of his body. Like she, her whole body, like she is barely curled up and she, the entire length of her body fits just the span of his shoulders. Yeah. Like maybe he's like, I actually barely feel this weight on me.

This is like, this is the same as having a cat curled on my chest. Yes. Which that seems logistically great for things. That seems like it wouldn't at all lead to pain.

I mean, some things, some things advantageous, other things maybe not. You know. You know what? But everyone's just got to figure out their own thing.

And that's beautiful. And that's fine. Yes. And now they're, yeah, recapping depressing things.

Yeah. So they're like huddling and Hades is going, the sleep dive. I didn't see anything that I can recall. It's what I felt.

And Persephone is like perked up because she's like, oh, this is about to get real. I better, I better be taking notes. I'm in my trauma receptor position now. Yeah.

Yeah. Persephone is like, I have been really studying hard with Chiron, both in working through my own trauma and in learning how to be a therapist. So yeah. Time to put that hat on.

I'm ready. I'm ready. Let's go. Yeah.

And Hades is like, it was as if my childhood was yesterday. And then we flash two images, like more evocative than literal, but like images that evoke Hades' childhood, where like Cronus is huge and angry and coming to eat him on like this red and black panel. Yeah. And Hades is going, without multiple lifetimes, separating me from my past, separating me from him.

And this red and black scary panel becomes that jagged zigzag Cronus's throat motif that we see. And little Hades is like falling into, under, related to that motif. Yeah. It's, you know, just general drama and bad.

Just imagine being really sad and scared and a child in that. You get it. You see it. You get it.

It's that. It's the vibe of that. It's the vibe of sad. Yeah.

So yeah. And baby Hades' eyes are white. Yeah. And then he kind of like morphs into teenage Hades.

And now he's saying, and the only thing I could feel was that same all-consuming fear from when I was a boy. That loneliness. That sucks, Hades. I'm sorry.

That is, let me tell you, buddy, that's a suboptimal dream. It really is. Morpheus, I have notes. Girl, my dear friend Morpheus.

Do you have problems? Yes or no. You need to pick it up though, okay? I can love you as an individual and also honestly reflect on your employee performance.

I know this is your second try and that's, you know, it's okay. But again, I say, you could have tried on someone else. You didn't need to go for the big bad right away, okay? We live and we learn.

It's all right. Performance review over. But now you know. Yeah.

And in this next panel, we're back. We see them still snuggling in the bed and now Hades' stutter is back because he's so like back in that traumatized young headspace. And he's going, I'm ashamed. I worked so hard to be stronger than all of this personal muck.

Yet here I am again causing harm. I'm so sorry. Wow. Wow.

We just hate to see it. It's so deeply sad. And I am sad. And Persephone's like, okay, are you done expressing your feelings?

Now I would like to enter my positive affirmations therapy mode. Here is what I've learned from my books and my studies with Kairos. You have nothing to be sorry for or ashamed of. You didn't do this.

Cronus did. What you went through as a child was unspeakable. And yet, in spite of everything, look at all you've done. Look at all you've overcome.

Look at the man that you are. And she's like being very tender and like holding his hands and like putting them up to her face and just like really hammering home all of the key things she has learned. Do you know what show tune this made me think of? Because I feel like it's so like, it might not have like occurred to you, but once the connection is made, you're going to be like, oh, this is basically the exact lyrics of that song.

What is it? Look at where you are. Look at where you started. The fact that you're alive is a miracle.

Yeah, that's you're right. You're right. You're right. That's this.

That's this. Wow. This is that. Yeah.

Oh, God. Yeah. And Persephone is just like, I will continue because you are not yet happier. And so I will continue.

Yeah. And she's going, you must know that I'm in awe of you every day. And then we see this panel of her like in the mortal realm during the punishment era and like standing with a pitchfork and it's raining and she's like looking really sad and overwhelmed in this big field. And she's going, there were times in the last few years of my life where I felt truly hopeless.

But then I would think about you and your beautiful city and your capacity for love despite all the cruelty you're faced. And I knew I'd make it too. And again, the cartoon face of this blue cartoon man emotes a lot. Yeah.

He just like looks like he's just going to fall apart into a puddle, baby. Yeah. Yeah. And he goes, you think that about me?

And I do really love this, honestly. Like I love the moments where Hades and Persephone like recognize great traits in each other that other people don't recognize. You know, it's very sweet. Yeah.

I love this. And it's also like, Hades just wants to be loved. And I feel like this is the opposite of how he sees himself and exactly how he wants to be. And yeah, it's really sweet.

And she just goes, I do. And they like touch foreheads and it's very sweet. Yeah. And then this like unlocks a new level of honesty from him.

And he's like, I've been trying so hard not to compare, but there's something about Cronus keeping someone captive that hits too close to home. And I'm not sure like, maybe it's just this simple analysis. That's what Hades was thinking about when he was like, don't let it sink in. Yeah.

I also have another thought about that that we can unpack later. Yeah. But yeah, I think that's an option. Yes.

Agreed. I had the same thought. I was like, oh, I guess this is suggesting that it's just like his own stuff. But right.

And then he goes, I don't know. I just feel completely useless to help. My failed sleep dive, my stupid drill that's made no progress. I'm like, oh, Hades, your drill isn't stupid, honey.

You're doing your best. Is it not stupid? But it's fine. It's a very nice attempt, honey.

It's as valid to try as anything else. Okay. It's totally fair. And if sexy, wounded, shirtless Hades told me his drill was stupid, I would be like, nothing has ever been less stupid.

Your drill is such a turn on. It's perfect. It's the best idea ever. Can you just say the words my drill?

Because I'm hard, actually. Because drill me. Drill my hole. Please.

I would actually love to see your drill. Can you show me your drill right now? Yes. I have several pre-existing holes that that drill can explore.

Exactly. But Persephone gives him this look that's like, are you fucking stupid? Like, she's giving him this look that's like, that is the most preposterous thing I've ever heard someone say. And then she goes, that's not true at all.

If anything, you're the most important being in this process. And he's just like, what? Hades, you're being dense right now. What do you mean, how so?

Come on, baby. Yeah. I mean, it's a little bit like, oh, you think I'm pretty, but what's pretty about me? Okay.

All right. I don't blame him. You know what? That's valid.

That's valid. That is valid. I do see you, Hades. I do see you on that.

Tell me. Okay, but tell me specifically. So I believe you. Amen.

Amen. I saw this TikTok the other day of this guy being like, men, I've just realized we've been complimenting our women wrong this whole time. And he pulls in his life and he's like, you look nice. And she goes, I don't believe you.

And then he goes away and he's like, no, this is how you do it. And then she comes back and he's like, holy fuck, you look incredible. And she's like, I know this is a bit, but like, I do feel better. And I was like, Sam, take note.

This is really important. I need you to see this. This is all I ask for. It's not that hard.

And also for you to feed me three meals a day. And also I need you to just show up randomly and give me a cookie and a kiss when I feel sad and remind me that I have to eat and drink water, okay? It is not that much to ask for, okay? And at least once an hour show up and give me three very specific compliments that are not about what I'm wearing but rather about my innate characteristics and that you've never said before.

They need to be novel. Sam and I do something similar to that except it's about Puffy and we'll just be like throughout the day we'll just pick numbers and be like, okay, Sam, tell me five things you love about Puffy, two of which you've never said before. Or like sometimes we'll say like, okay, Sam, tell me three things you love about Puffy's tongue or like just really specific requests. Oh, that's so special.

He's so special. I feel like that would be a good way for your Sam to contextualize how he should move through his day. Like once an hour tell Erin three things I think about her that are beautiful, three of which I've never said before. Yeah, no, that's perfect.

I love that. That's very helpful. That's a helpful framing for all of us. And Persephone is going, I will give you some very specific examples of the ways in which you are the most important person.

She says, you've been trying to keep your childhood separate from the situation but very few beings have experienced what you have and yet you're strong enough to choose kindness, empathy, and compassion and it's that strength that will connect you with the interloper and Hades is like, thank you for the specific validation. Yes, I appreciate. And she goes on and she's like, not to say that you should go jumping back into another sleep dive, of course. I certainly don't want you to have to repeat that today and Hades is like, but a new perspective perhaps?

She's like, yeah. Yeah, it's sweet. And then they like start snuggling again and she goes, you know, also, I think we should stop calling the interloper the interloper and he's like, you want to give them a name? And she's like, yeah, they're dating just like us.

They should have a name or is that weird? And to me, I'm like, it's a little weird that you're assuming they don't already have their own name, but surely the name you choose will inform me, the reader, something about them. So please give them a name. I could not agree more the second she said that.

I was like, bitch, we're about to find out who the fuck is it. Counting down. Let's go. Let's go.

Yeah. Also, I do feel like there's something to that. It's like, you know, the interloper is a really depersonalizing title and we will feel more compassionate towards them if we call them something else. Even if it's like the little, little, uh, little pal.

Yeah, the little guy. The little weird guy. Like, you know, something that's just like, it's not like a name necessarily, but it's like something that can help us shift our minds. It's less like villainized.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I like that. That's a good perspective. Yeah.

Yeah. Yeah. And Hades says, no, it makes sense to me. Do you have anything in mind?

And she's just like, not as if, yeah, but I'm sure we'll come up with something. And I was like, damn it, Persephone. I know. Wait to leave me hanging.

God. And then we come away and we see our number one guy, our best session. Oh, Monsieur Harvey. He's on the news and he's going breaking news and explosions rock the underworld today.

Damaging tower one. And we see an image of that tower with Hades' big scary crystals coming out of it. And we see that the people who are watching the TV are Thetis and Lucy and they're sitting in their shared apartment and Lucy kept the chick. So I'm like, you know what, girl, you can live to see another day.

I don't have to kill you. I had exactly the same. I was like, there is something in her after all. Look at her.

She's a mother now. She's learning. But also, I'm fucking obsessed with Thetis' vibe here, which is sweaty, grungy athleisure. I am actively angry to be here.

I am not sitting for the male gaze. I fucking hate you, Luz. How do I get you the fuck out of my apartment? I'm also farting actively.

Like, I am as gross as humanly possible. Fuck you. I could not agree more. Like, something about what definitely says I have not showered since my last workout, you know?

Yes, yes. Like, she looks greasy somehow. Like, she doesn't look greasy, but you can tell looking at her, she's greasy. That's the energy.

It's a 4D experience consuming this and I don't know where the smell is coming from, but I'm experiencing it. And you know what? It's correct. You know what, Thetis?

I get it. And I'm here for it for you. Yeah, honestly, Thetis, I'm sure Hermes has some tips for you. Yeah, truly.

He loves to wear his sweaty gym wear to the courthouse. You know what else? He loves tough times. So, he's got lots of things to say about getting clean and being sweaty.

Amen, amen. But yeah, Haycarvi is still going like, inside sources say an experiment when awry. And now Thetis and Lucy start talking to each other and Thetis is like, Lucy, I gotta ask because I'm dying to know. What did the text messages from Hades say?

And she's like, oh, sure. And just like, hands over her phone. And the little chick is just like hopping around on her legs. And I was like, all right, Luce.

But then I immediately was like, Luce, the literal, actual goddamn fuck is wrong with you. This, like, at the risk of being hyperbolic, this is the single most surprising thing that has happened in all of Lore Olympus, including the 10-year time jump. I could not agree more. I was literally, I was like, you have absolutely got to be kidding me.

This is the most fucking absurd thing that's ever happened in any piece of media I've ever consumed. Like, Lucy, I say this like from a place of genuine concern and love. I think probably being institutionalized would be the best thing for you right now. Like, honestly, is Chiron available for an emergency consultation.

This is, we are unwell in this house. Someone needs to take this little chick away. We are. You can probably receive Chiron services pro bono at this point because they just became a millionaire from the Demeter and Persephone session.

Yeah, they no longer need an income separately. So they're just going to do this out of the goodness of their heart to make sure this little chick has a mother who's competent to care for them. Okay? Exactly.

Because, see, this looks at the phone, goes, what is this? This is just a bunch of JPEGs you edited yourself. And we see a picture from, like, Instagram layout or some bullshit that's like text she wrote herself on a glittery background that says manifest in comic sans I had to reread this, like, several times because I was like, no, this, Lucid, not just say I read the secret and I've just been literally living my life as if this was true. Like, the fact that not only did she offer these texts as a defense against persephone's wrath in her home but she said it to hades's face you sent me text messages i like you genuinely genuinely from a place of love you are not well girl like is this is there she doesn't seem smart enough to me to be playing 4d chess no i was like is there are there other texts like no this really no this really is it like she is just deeply deeply wonked in the gourd she just is not she doesn't have a grip on reality like i i am speechless i am overcome by this this is unbelievable and like all the pieces were there for it to just have been cronus trying to fuck up his life or get some as hades or whatever but no no no it's truly being an inscrutable monster like it's one thing to make this but then to tell other people that these texts existed is like that is unwell behavior never in all my days have i seen such a thing and you know what even thetis is on our side on this one even thetis is like girl this is not it yeah because lucy's like it's my vision board i'm manifesting and she's like so hades never sent you anything and she's like i'm manifesting it's as good as a done deal and thetis is like fuck this like i miss minthe i'm never speaking to you again like where is minthe i need to apologize to that fucking bitch right now i made a mistake yep yep yep oh my god and i'm like oh thetis even i feel for you right now this is that is fucking tough that's tough god and then we cut away and we are somewhere totally different in the mortal realm and we see in the foreground a mortal woman who looks like the picture of cassandra that we had seen in the flashback and behind her there is a different woman who isn't someone we recognize and they're both just like sweeping this big palatial floor and cassandra looks up and goes oh no and the woman in the back goes here we go again look at me look at me i can't help with temple duties because i have an imaginary friend and cassandra's just like i'm telling the truth why would i make him up and she has like these really like piercing purple eyes which i don't know if those are supposed to be her natural color or indicate a connection to apollo or what but they are there and then this girl who is up to her eyeballs in rage is just like gesturing wildly being like oh i suppose our lord apollo is standing right here and she's like gesturing to what her is like open empty space but apollo is indeed standing there being the world's biggest little fucking bitch yeah and and presumably both of these women are priestesses to apollo which is why she's being like our lord apollo is standing here blah blah yeah and now this other woman is walking away being like talk to yourself all you want just do your share of the chores and cassandra is like apollo is approaching her looking like a terrible mean little bitch and cassandra is looking like a resigned annoyed frustrated yep person and the last panel is just apollo going hello cassandra and i hate it oh my last note is also hate it hate it yep perfect hate it great minds think alike yep um should we talk about cassandra let's do it great we can put it off no longer yeah i just i really hate this one yeah i know i feel like we can tell it pretty quickly you know there's only really one fact that's super essential yeah yeah yeah uh but basically so cassandra is a princess of troy in the original mythology she's like a daughter of king priam and queen hecuba of troy and she has some famous brothers including hector and paris who are both important in the trojan war so she's like a princess and basically like the crux of her myth is that she is gifted the ability to see prophecies by apollo but the details of how she comes about that gift there are sort of different versions of it like in one version apollo just like saw her and was like oh my god she's so fucking hot like i'm gonna buy this girl a drink at the bar and then she's gonna owe me sex yeah so he's like yo hottie let me give you this gift of prophecy like in an attempt to woo her but when she got the gift she was like i still don't have to sleep with you just because you bought me one manhattan yeah and he was like okay well then fuck you here's a curse on top of the gift go fuck yourself and the curse was basically just like she is the bomb.com at prophecies her prophecies are always perfect and super detailed but no one will ever believe anything that she says love it absolutely love it it's it's yeah it's so good so good even also more good on top of that is the other version of the myth that just totally victim blames cassandra and it's like well she's you know this slut probably tried to seduce apollo to get him to give her this gift and then once she had the gift she changed her mind uh which like even if she did good for her that's her prerogative and then he like gave her the curse in retaliation so yeah it's good it's really it's all very very good and yeah it's good very good very good and yeah and then bad things happen to her and her all family yep and like she she keeps god bless her she keeps trying really hard to be helpful she predicted like every detail about the trojan war from the start to the end and no one fucking believed her at all she was like if paris steals hell and shit's gonna go down she predicted the trojan fucking horse and they still saw that horse come by and they were like nah this is probably fine fuck cassandra am i right i was like really well that they were like yeah the last nine things she said did come true but i really fucking hate that bitch so i don't think the tenth will yep yep yeah and just like she predicted her own death which is tough yep and we have more information on that in our patreon episode about clyde of nestra so go listen to that if you want to learn more yeah some of that episode is okay i think that episode is really interesting but a lot of it is depressing yeah as as with greek mythology as a whole so broadly speaking yes okay so we're gonna stop there i know it was only one chapter but it's gonna end up being net much more content for y'all so next week when chapter whatever 252 drops we will be back with an episode about that full length so exciting and then we'll get back into our regular schedule now that the hiatus is officially over okay see you then bye
