139 | How I quit being lazy and got out of my funk, again
from Meant to Bloom: because burnout shouldn't be your baseline · host Brittni Clarkson
I’ve been called lazy many times in my life, mostly by my mom (parents just don’t understand). I tried to fight it for so long, and when I finally gave in, things started to fall into place. Let me explain this, I had it all wrong. I wore that false label while holding in my heart the truth and it caused a rift in how I viewed myself. I never felt lazy, but because I was experiencing depression, fatigue and burnout, I always felt like it was impossible to get anything done. I know we’ve talked about how we place an unrealistic expectation on ourselves and end up hurt that we can’t accomplish an impractical and inhuman amount of work in a day while juggling the home, the husband, the kids, and your own sanity… But today I want to take the time to discuss laziness, or our self-perceived laziness to be more specific.
