15: God’s Strategy For Civil Conquest 4 of 7 - MEDIA (b)

from JIM MCCOTTER LIVE · host Jim McCotter

In the 20th century, for the first time since the time of Christ, Christians began to be indifferent to God’s biblical civil mandate and as a result they did not think about the necessity of God’s biblical media mandate. These two God given mandates stand or fall together! Also, at this same time a new era of media was invented - electronic media - radio, film, and television. Christians had already abdicated their newspaper media dominance, so Satan swiftly moved his secular non-Christian agents into place to take over the new electronic media with its national dominance. It has been rightly said:* THE COUNTRY is controlled by LAWS.* LAWS are controlled by POLITICIANS.* POLITICIANS are controlled by VOTERS.* VOTERS are controlled by PUBLIC OPINION.* PUBLIC OPINION is controlled by MEDIA.* So, whoever controls MEDIA controls the COUNTRY!New Testament - KeryssoIn the New Testament the root word for “preach” or “preacher” is used 80 times. However, in the original Greek, there are seven different Greek words but which in English translation Bibles are often only translated as “preach.” But as you would expect, every one of the seven different Greek words has seven different meanings. Therefore, with our English Bibles we don’t always see the seven Greek word meanings. Here are six of the seven different Greek words and their meanings:* Laleō: Talk* Kataggellō: Teach* Diaggello: Declare* Dialegomai: Debate* Parresiazomai: Be bold.* Euaggelizō: Tell good news. However, NONE of these Greek root words are used for “preacher” in Romans 10:14:“How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?”The Greek word in Romans 10:14 for “preacher” is “kēryssō.” This Greek word has a dramatically different meaning than all the other Greek words above. When the apostle Paul heard the Holy Spirit dictate to him this word, “kerysso” … Paul may have been shocked. This Greek word was used at that time for the mass news media! Here is how the Greek lexicon defines this word “kerysso”:* To officiate as a Herald, an Official Messenger, the Public Town Crier.* To publish openly. Moreover, the very next verse describes the mass media newsmen of their day (Rom. 10:15):“And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!’”The first word for “preach” in Greek is “kerysso,” or “public heralding.” The second word for “preach” in Greek is “euangelizō,” which is “tell good news.” The first word described what kind of messaging, the second what kind of message. Evangelicals today may have the right message but have totally lost the kind of messaging - God’s mandated mass media! When Paul quotes here from the Old Testament, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach,” this described the public Heralds that ran from city to city publicly declaring the news to that city. New Testament preachers were NOT known for Sunday morning sermons behind closed doors but for being the public mass media of their city! We see that exemplified with all the apostles as well as Paul and his fellow apostles. For centuries in England, the Keryssos were called the town Criers or town Heralds. After the invention of the printing press the mass media newspapers began to replace the personal town heralds. The first newspaper I started in the late 70’s, I called The Life Herald. After that I started many other newspapers and also bought radio and television stations until the 21st century when the internet entered into the new mass media world.WarfareThe U.S. Armed Forces has six branches to accomplish its commission: Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Space Force and Coast Guard. Like a military, God has given His spiritual military seven spiritual warfare branches to accomplish His Great Commission:* Laleō: Talk.* Kataggellō: Teach.* Diaggello: Declare.* Dialegomai: Debate.* Parresiazomai: Be bold.* Euaggelizō: Tell good news.* Kerysso: Heralding / Publishing news media. To win in any warfare, military or spiritual, all the branches are strategic. Of all the U.S. military branches, the Air Force might best be compared to God’s mandate for “kerysso.” The Air Force can mass bomb a whole city. God’s mandate for kerysso is to mass communicate to a whole city. Now think about this:* NO war in history has ever been won by any nation if they did not have an air force and the other side did.* NO nation has ever been Christianized when non-Christians dominated kerysso.* NO nation in history has ever remained non-Christianized when Christians dominated kerysso! There has never been ONE historical exception in any of the above three! And to those who think that may have been possible in the past but not in our culture today, let me make one thing historically clear to you:* When Christianity and God’s Law virtually took over the whole Roman Empire in the 4th century, historically it would have been more impossible with that government than in America today.* When the Christian Protestant Reformers took over city-states and nation after nation in the 16th century, historically it would have been more impossible with that government than in America today.I could easily author an entire article confirming the above. But really how does it even compare. In the U.S. today, all Christians need to do is walk to a polling place and fill out a ballot! Moreover, if God is on our side and a critical mass of Christians obey, “is anything too difficult for God?” Or as Paul said - “If God be for us who can be against us?” What Christian should even question - is any nation or government of darkness greater than King Jesus and the Kingdom of God?However, for Christian authorities to carry it all out, I do not presume this would be easy. But it is impossible if no one believes or acts. All the Reformers were initially considered to be seditious and treasonous, even by some Christians. They were also violently opposed. Many were put in jail. Others tortured. Some burned at the stake. I don’t assume Satan will be any less ferocious today than he was then in losing any of his national domains. But the Christians won city after city! That is our Christian lineage! The Apostle John said (Rev. 12:11):“And they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die.”The Apostle Paul said (Rom. 8:36):“For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”And remember what Paul said to all the Christians in Corinth (1 Cor. 1:26-28):“Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are.”One of three ways YOU can obey God’s media mandate and help conquer a city for Christ:* If you have the money, you could start or buy newspapers, television or radio stations. Or you could buy or develop an internet social media company.* For virtually no cost you could pursue being a social media influencer via Substack with writing, video, and/or audio. You can have a great start with all who are on your email list, and it could grow from there, if you only do it for a few minutes once or more a week.* Last but not least (or also), if you’re not able to do #1 or just don’t feel you can do #2, in God’s Name, don’t do nothing. Take my articles and re-send them to your email list or send me your email list and I’ll do it for you.Of all the rich people that were putting money into the temple treasury, Jesus noticed only one - a poor widow who only put in 2 cents. Jesus said (Luke 16:10):“He that is faithful with that which is least will be faithful with much.”Edmund Burke, the renowned English Christian political reformer, declared:“Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little.”Whatever you do, don’t “bury your [email list of] talents,” which God has given you. Invest whatever you can today in God’s Kingdom… if you want to hear Jesus say to YOU (Matt. 25:23):“Well done good and faithful servant.” Get full access to Jim McCotter LIVE at jimmccotter.substack.com/subscribe
