Oh, happy new year. Happy new year. Maybe we already said that in a previous episode. I don't know, but for us, it's January 2nd when we're recording this.

So it's appropriate for us. Yeah. And you know, who cares about your perspective? Anyway, welcome to Laurel and Pod.

Yeah, and you know what? Fuck you. Yeah. Ah.

So this is Laurel and Pod. It's a podcast about Laurel and Piss. Laurel and Piss is a webcomic by Rachel Smythe. It's wonderful.

This is a bullshit podcast by two bullshit people. My name's Erin. My name is Zoey. And this is podcast episode 140 covering Laurel and Piss chapters 259 and 260.

It sure is. Yeah. So before we start talking about the actual chapters, at the beginning of every episode, we read one of our five star iTunes reviews for all of your listening pleasure. And I know exactly which one we're reading today.

And I think Erin, you do too. Oh, praise be. Wait, is it new? Yes, it's the most recent one.

Wait, I haven't even seen this yet. I'm really excited. Oh, good. Allow me to read it for you.

OK, I can't wait. It is from December 18th, 2023 from Cothonic Fatigue. Incredible name. And it is a five star iTunes review.

Perfect. Good. Strong start. And the title is Dry to Ramen Snack.

If you know you know. Ah! I thought you had not seen this. Oh, my god.

And Cothonic Fatigue shares with us. I never thought this is what would finally prompt you in the writer review. But I started listening to the most recent interview and had to jump to Zoey's defense. I recently ordered a bag of Baby Star brand crispy ramen noodle snack from Baku Market.

That's right. In Japan, you can buy dry, crispy, seasoned ramen noodles as a snack in multiple flavors. OK, but they have a flavor. Granted, it's intended as a snack, not as an entire meal, but close enough.

Anyway, love you guys. And for everyone who's listening, get yourself a Patreon subscription, so much content for the low, low price of $1 a month, sometimes equal to five quarters or so. Wait, what an icon. What an icon.

What an icon. Thank you for your review. I'm glad Zoey has at least one person and potentially the entire country of Japan on her side. I think I have the entire United human race on my side.

It's just a question of whether you all realize it or not. Whether you've been brought into God's light or not. Please don't be dry ramen. Wow, thank you for that.

That is insight that is very useful. It is. Thank you, Kithonic Fatigue. You're the best.

We love you. And now we can begin the episode. Yay. So today we're going to start with chapter 259 of Laurel Empis, which begins with the title panel, and it's episode 259 Chlorine Affection.

And so we're starting in the underworld with Hekity and Electo. And Electo's being like, you're going to love this. I promise you'll never want to drink anything else. And we see Hekity all wrapped up and bundled.

Oh, Erin, where did we leave off last time? OK, we just found out Hekity went into it. We heard scary trance. And she found out that Erebus is in Tartarus, in the deepest darkest of the hell pits.

Figures, of course. And Hades was like, OK, so that's a problem. But Persephone, what does this mean for us? Are you going to do some unhinged shit without consulting me again?

Because it's kind of becoming your MO. Exactly. So Hekity is warming up and getting comfortable after her big scary vision session. And Electo's being like, this drink is equal parts hot, boozy, and spicy.

And she's bringing over. She's like, stirring this gigantic pot. And like, OK, boozy is great. That's excellent.

Erin, don't even try it. I think America will stand with me on not only dry ramen, but also on hot alcohol. I know. I was going to say, this seems like a dream to Zoe.

This is like hot, spicy wine. Like it looks like coffee. It's opaque. Like this is what Zoe wants.

Yes. This is the opposite of what I want. Yeah. I would like my liquid to be as thin and clear as possible.

And cold. Yeah. Yeah. I want glacial water.

But Electo gets it. And she's going, best of all, it's completely opaque. The sign of a true after work drink. I call it Funtime Sleepy Drink.

And let me tell you, Electo, that is a red flag of a name. I think it could not be a bigger green flag. Please, please give me Funtime Sleepy Drink. If everyone's into it, then it's fine.

And how can you seem to be enjoying herself? So she did that. So it's fine. And now they're looking out this window as a second drink's her Funtime Sleepy Drink.

And Electo's like, she's still at it, huh? And how can he replies, the outcome of Hades's sleep drive really got to her. And through the window, we see like a sad, morpheus, like working, making something glow, doing her best. Poor baby Morpheus.

Yeah. And then Electo goes, if it's got anything to do with Hades, is Noggin, she's got her work cut out for her. But, got him. Fucking got him.

Electo is so fun. She's just like, there is no one who rags on Hades with the consistency and dedication that Electo does. Accuracy, really hitting all the sore spots. I love it.

She's fucking, she's got his number. And how can he just look at her admonishingly like a electo? And we see all her snakes all having different emotions in her hair and I love that. Yeah.

And then there's like a dot dot dot. And we just see how can he kind of look side to side. And so what's that about the side to side look? Is she just going like, well, to be fair, Hades, Noggin is fucked up?

Or because I thought she looks kind of like, like she's going to say something else. You know what I mean? Yeah. I don't know.

My answer is that I don't know. Great. Some additional words I can say now are, I kind of assumed it was her having some kind of wariness about whatever Morpheus's next thing was going to be. Like, either she's worried that Morpheus is going to hurt herself somehow trying to do this thing or whatever.

Yeah. OK. But I don't know. Yeah.

I mean, I returned to my original answer. There are plenty of reasons for her to feel that way. Yeah. Yeah.

Like whatever the fuck this feeling is. We all know what it is. What is this feeling? So sudden.

And new. Yeah. And now we fade away and we're back with Hades and Persephone. And Hades is going, what would a new deal entail?

What would that look like for us? Yeah. I mean, I feel like it could be like a new deal. It could be like job creation, banking reform, maybe the repeal of prohibition.

Ah! You you workshop that. That was good. That was fucking good.

Thank you. Thank you. Well, I think it's extremely well played. Thank you.

I would also like to take this opportunity to sing the Sonalcom out tomorrow. Because Annie, FDR, et cetera, I get it. Wow. We're on a roll today.

But yeah. So Hades is asking very legitimate questions. And he and Persephone, you're still sitting next to each other in bed. And her eyes are bright red.

And his body is half-chronous. Yeah. Aaron, can I ask you right at the top of this scene, what your thoughts are on the fact that Hades has been half-chronous colored recently slashed throughout this vignette? Like, you know, obviously it indicates some general instability.

Yeah. But like, do you have more to unpack about the symbolism there? Like, the shorter answer is no, but I can bullshit. Great.

Like, yes, I think it has to do with general instability and stress and stuff. And like Persephone's red eyes, they're having a bad time. We could also say that it has to do with like, Cronus getting stronger or something. And it's just like that influencing him.

Or like, he's feeling divided and split about things because he like wants to take care of this. But he also wants to hold on to Persephone. Like, I'm sure there's something there we could say. But I think it's mostly just that they are very stressed.

Yeah. I think all of that makes sense. Good. Great.

Yeah. So Persephone is just like sitting contemplative, thinking about the entire FDR's New Deal that she's constructed in her head that she was not going to tell Hades about and was going to just coincide with Aerobus. And she's like, OK, well, I do have the perfect words to externalize my feelings. And she says, the situation changed from wanting to ask Aerobus questions to possibly making a New Deal so rapidly.

I'd be fine with my new powers if I just understood them. But it isn't just about me anymore. And number one, Persephone, I know you fucking wouldn't. Don't fucking lie to yourself.

Right. There's no reason to front here. We're just friends, be honest. Exactly.

Like, no, you would not be fine with being like, yeah, I was a goddess of springtime and life and rebirth. I just kill things. Just indiscriminately destroyed. It's actually fine with me.

Like, if it was up to me, that'd be fine. It's actually good. My self-worth is not in flux whatsoever. It doesn't bother me to have my identity upended, actually.

That's normal. But yeah, so now she and Hades are both kind of looking down clearly in their own heads about it. And Persephone is saying, I don't want others to suffer, and I know you feel the same. And in this panel where they're both looking sad, they are looking sad in the exact same way.

Like, they're like, posture is totally mirrored. They are very clearly both having the same thought process. Yeah. And this plot line, I do think is really interesting and moves the story along very well, obviously.

But it is one of those examples of like, Hades and Persephone, both having the same unhelpful self-doubt internal monologues that makes me want to just grab and shake them. Like, there's holding that Hades is about to launch into. It's like, if I had just kept a better eye on Father, she wouldn't have had to make that dodgy deal with Erebus in the first place. We see this like, flashback to her eating the pomegranate and Hades is all sad.

And like, you know Persephone is thinking the same thing. I should never have blah, blah, blah. And it's like, my dude, it's like, I get it. But maybe let's not do the, it's all your fault and you're the worst person on Earth's internal monologue forever again.

At some point, it's very annoying for you to be a martyr. Like, yeah. Like, you need to get down off your fucking high horse. And we need to work through this like real people.

Right. Like, what's the line in Hamilton that's like, dying is easy, living is harder, whatever. Like, you have to like be creative and fucking just solve the actual problem. Amen, amen.

This is not useful to you. Like, okay, I'm gonna give you four hours to wallow and then I'm gonna need to pull your heads out of your respective asses. Agreed, agreed. But Hades is not ready to pull his out of his ass yet because he's thinking like, my complacency has cost her so much and then he gets this like determined look on his face and he jumps out of bed and he's like, I want to do another sleep die.

Oh my God. I know what to expect this time. And I'm like, Hades, I'm annoyed with you. Like this is, like shut the fuck up for real.

Like this broad martyrdom is not useful. This just like maybe, maybe this sleep dive, I'll die. Let's give it a go. And you know what, what if that be nice?

It's so unproductive. Oh God, yeah, and his eyes are like frantic. And Persephone's like running after him and her hair is like growing every second. She's like, when I said that you would be best equipped to do the sleep dives, I thought we had more time.

If you go back and now it'll be dangerous. And she's like fully running and he's just walking fast. And she's like, can you slow the fuck down? Persephone handles this with such grace.

If I was having this conversation with my husband and he decided to just storm into the next room and then go for a swim while I'm trying to talk to him, I would not react to Persephone's first Stephanie. Like stop and listen to me. Have this conversation. You do not need to swim right now.

Stop. Also for the more of your going to swim, put on your fucking bathing suit because I don't want to do your fucking laundry. Or just get naked. Like do me a favor if you're going to do this bullshit for yourself.

At least put on a show. Yeah. Oh God, yeah. And then he just like without turning around, he says, what other options do we have for dealing with my father?

And she's like, well, there's the obvious one, which is that I am a fertility goddess. And you could try to use my powers to destroy him. Yeah. Which like I get why we're reluctant about doing this.

I don't know that this is the right course of action or the best one, but it's kind of wild that we haven't discussed it before. Yeah. I like, I feel unsure how Rachel wants her readers to feel about this suggestion because on some obvious level, it's like, well, this seems dangerous. And like also maybe anti-feminist and whatever.

Like yeah, I'm not like happy about it. But it also seems like this entire magic system is built around that happening. Yeah. Like what else are you gonna do?

Right. Like don't you think that if Metis could have just used her own powers to bring down Cronus, she would have like, it seems like there is explicitly not a way for Persephone to just do it herself. Right. It's like she is a battery.

Right. And she needs a circuit to be from someone else or whatever. Yeah. I feel like, I mean, maybe we're gonna learn that Persephone is some like level two fertility goddess that has more powers that are different or whatever, or she's gonna like finally become self-actualized enough as a woman to access them herself or something.

Something. But like, I don't know. I feel like it would have to be explicitly a divergence from current canon if she was able to just do it herself. Yeah.

No, I agree. I agree. It seems like this is the avenue by which we can access these mega superpowers. Right.

Right. And Hades like turns around and he's like, what? And she's going, we did it that one time back at the hotel. We did it by accident, right?

And she's thinking of the time when Hades found out about the assault and he like got super huge and went storming to try to find Apollo, which was- Which was good. Very sexy. It was very good. Hades, we need more of that energy.

Honestly, we never stop. That should have just been forever. Yeah. And she's going, no, no.

And she's going, we can try to recreate it. And he's going, Corey, we barely understand how it works. And even if we could make it work again, I don't want to take from you. I don't want to hurt you.

And she's going, you won't though. I trust you. And he's like in the foreground walking towards the viewer. And she's behind him following him.

And now we see a side panel of him. And it's the crona side. So we just see him looking like Cronus. And he goes, how do you know it won't change me?

I'm sure my father was trustworthy once. Which Hades, I'm not sure of that. Right. But second off, this is a good, valid, appropriate concern for you to face.

I like to see this. This is good. And I think this panel is one of the more obvious ones for why it's showing his crona side, because it's meant to just be like, he's his son. Like we don't know.

Things could be things could change. We don't know. You know, he could have some of that in him. It's unclear.

Yeah. Yeah. And then he goes, Gaia, Metis, my mother, where are they now? And I say, where?

Truly where? Literally, physically where? Well, Metis is doing a one woman show of Wicked on Broadway. But only on Thursday.

But what? So where is she the other six nights a week? We don't know. We in cabaret back to the future.

It's really unclear. There are so many options. There are a lot of shows playing right now. And I need to get my tickets.

Figure that out, Hades. Let us know. Yeah. And he's going, I just can't believe this is happening.

And she's again following along behind him on her tiny legs, being like, Hades, could you fucking hold on for a second? And he's like, I literally can't. I must get swimming in tight clothes right now. Fuck you, wife.

And fuck the conversation we're having. Literally, literally, genuinely, yes. And he's like, no matter the choice, it will come at a cost to us. And I'm like, the man is spiraling.

The man is unfucking raffling. And he's like, all the options are dangerous. And ultimately, lead my wife to enter into yet another monkey's paw of a deal. And who knows what that will look like.

And we see this drawing of the night sky and just kind of their outlines and the Milky Way. And it's like they're fading into space unraveling. And he says, after everything, I don't see us coming out unscathed. And then he's like, Justin case, you guys don't understand.

I am angry because we basically have to choose between us and everyone else. And by the time he's done saying all of that, he is in the pool. And Persephone has followed him into the pool. Yeah.

He has fully clothed in the pool. Like, he doesn't even realize he has dissociated and walked into the pool. And Persephone is just like holding him from behind in the pool, being like, you can't be in the water unsupervised right now. Yeah, she's right.

She is right. And I get it. There's symbolism here. They're trying to stay afloat.

Yeah. It's a metaphor, et cetera. And Hades' trauma, water, et cetera. And now Persephone has come up from behind him and is hugging him around the waist.

And so he's not looking at her when he says, Cora, when you were taken away, I was so unprepared. Your absence nearly killed me. I know the likelihood of that happening again is slim to none. But that's where my mind goes.

Is it slim to none? Because Persephone was talking like you guys were going to break up literally four panels ago. Or that you were going to use her life essence to kill Cora. So I wouldn't say slim to none.

Yeah. Let's get our story straight here, kids. Right. Right.

It's thoroughly on the table. And they're getting deeper and deeper in the water. And by now, they're almost floating on their backs, but still embracing. Yeah.

And Hades is going, I guess I'm not as over it as I thought I was. And now they're like, she is flat. And he's on top of her. And she's hugging him and holding him.

And I'm like, I'm glad you guys are cuddling in this way. But Persephone, can you breathe? Maybe she doesn't have to. And you know what?

So that is a question I have later. I was like, I bet they don't have to breathe if they don't want to. But that's what I'm choosing to believe. Oh, absolutely.

And then he says like the most devastating thing. And he says, I cannot help this feeling that we almost got away with it. We almost got to keep each other. Yeah.

Oh, yeah. That's very sad. And they're still floating. And we see them from above.

And she's going, stop it. There's so much uncertainty in every single one of our options. And then now they start to like sink under the water together. And she's going, but this we can be sure of us.

Yeah. And now they're like, their heads are still above water. But their bodies are under the water. And he's like floating.

And she's kind of holding him. And she's going, no matter what, I will find my way back to you. If there is water, I will build a ship. If our love is forgotten, I will fall for you all over again.

If I must live as a mortal, I will die in your arms and return home to you once more. No matter what Arabists, the Fates or the universe have planned for us, I will find my way back to you. It's very beautiful and very sweet. And I'm like, bitch, you just came up with this shit off the top of your head.

Zoe, do you think that I should use that as my wedding house? I think you could. I certainly think it could be a reading. No, Zoe, I thought that and I immediately was like, I would literally rather die than say something this, that I can make eye contact with Sam as I said it.

No. Oh, God. Oh, God. Oh, God.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. So I say I went with a timeless I do. And that's perfect. Really brought out the Aquarius in me.

Also in this, no matter what Arabist says, blah, blah, blah, panel, I think that this is visually an interesting panel that I don't really know what to make of. It's like the left half is Persephone and the right half is Hades. And on the Persephone half, her nose and mouth and the rest of her body are underwater. But her eyes are right at the surface level such that the water is obscuring them, so we don't see her eyes.

And then Hades is totally underwater, but we can only see the Cronus side of his face. What thoughts do you have about that? Zoe, I do not know. What do I do with that?

Oh, God. What do you? I think for the Hades side, we could say Cronus is one of their big obstacles. So that's one reason why we're seeing that, right?

He's one of the big obstacles. But also it could be a nod to Hades internally being an obstacle. There is internal struggle as well. Or even if he becomes scary and bad, she will find her way back to him.

And like, you know what I mean? Yeah. And her eyes being covered, something about either love is blind or they can't see what's coming next. But something, something?

Yeah, love that. Love that. Yeah, great. Yeah, I think that's good.

And now they're both underwater and they're smooching. Yeah. And we can see the old Hades belly. And that's the most important thing.

And now, clothes are coming off. Hey-oh. Hey-oh. Yeah, and first, his sweatshirt comes off and it's like very serious and sexy.

And then she takes off her top and is like, yay! Yeah. Basically. Yeah.

It's very cute. And then, OK, these are the panels where I was really trying to figure out. Because I don't know. Some of these panels, with her being like, yay, my top is off.

It's the Hades side completely. And then in the next one, he's sensually neck kissing her. And it's completely the Cronus side. Yeah.

And I was like, I'm probably overthinking it. It's probably just meant to make the viewer vaguely nervous, like wonder what's going to play out. Yeah. But I don't know.

I don't know. I was like, is it the Cronus side showing in panels where he's making the move and it's more the Hades side show? I don't know. I don't know.

I was overthinking it. Or even just an association with it being more primal, when they're getting more into it. You know what I mean? It's more of a base urge.

Yeah. Maybe. I mean, I agree. I think it's probably just a vague unease.

But I don't know. It probably has some meaning that I can't understand it. Yeah. Yeah.

And then they're completely underwater. But it seems like they're talking. Like Hades has his mouth open and bubbles come out. And then Persephone has bubbles come out.

And Hades is smiling. And like blushing. But we can't hear what they're saying. Like 100% though, he's like, should we fuck?

And she's like, yes. Yeah. Yeah. Very cute.

Yeah. Yeah. And then we just get a couple more panels of them basically cuddling underwater. Yeah.

But again, one of them is an explicitly Cronus side panel. And then the next one is an explicitly Hades side panel. Or maybe we're supposed to be like, oh, even like the Cronus side of him is still Hades. You know what I mean?

Like maybe we're supposed to be able to see this and almost be comforted and be like, look, he is still him. Even in the scary moments, I don't know. Maybe. Lots of ways to take it.

And then because we no longer have the NSFW patreon, we are a rip. Big rip. Huge loss. Yeah.

We are now just zooming out seeing the pool and then like the outside of the house with just these like glowing pink and blue lights, which we can only assume that those lights are indicative of nice things. I mean, we can assume. But if some fan artists want to help us out, that's also OK. Yeah.

Yeah. We'll find it. We'll find it. Yeah.

So then that scene ends and we fade away. And now we are back in the Mortal Realm as seeing the Winterine Mountain view with Devries. In Chicago, winter. Exactly.

Yeah. And we see two little figures walking through the scene. And in the next panel, we see that it's Hessea and Hera. And Hera's going, they weren't kidding.

The Mortal Realm looks terrible. And she looks angry about it. And she looks like she's saying it as a fucking insult to the Mortal Realm. Like she's like kidding.

You've let yourself go. Yeah. Like you have a serum, honey. You look terrible.

Come on. And she and Hessea just kind of like walk in a beat of silence and Hessea looks nervous. And Hessea is like, what? And Hessea is like, so what happened with Cronus?

Yeah. And Hera's just like, I told him to piss off. And Hessea's like, OK, forgive me. I'm going to need you to say a little more.

She's like, that's simple, huh? He's not going to follow you around anymore. She's like, because help me understand, I thought you were having a traumatic break. Yeah.

And you were also being haunted. Yeah. Hessea, I appreciate you asking this question because me too. A, Hera, I'm again very proud of you for what you've done.

But B, I do wish you and I and everyone collectively realized that you could just tell him to fuck off. And then he would fuck off a long time ago, because it could have saved us all a lot of pain. Amen. But I'm glad it happened now, I guess.

So I'm glad you found the strength to do it. Yeah. And in the next panel, we see Hera from behind. And like, kind of in between Hera and the viewer is a very light, almost dusting that's like evocative of the trauma motif, like this like gust of wind.

But it's so light. And she's going, maybe he'll come back. Maybe he won't. But he'll get nothing from me.

And it's almost like, OK, that like trauma is with her. Like, it's here, but it's not driving anymore. Like, it's not the primary presence, which I think is very cool. And like, damn, Hera, you're such a badass.

She's like, I don't give a shit if he comes back. He can get fucked. Good for you, ma'am. Good for you.

And she's like walking ahead through the snow and leaving these footprints behind her. And as we scroll down, the footprints become these little blue and pink petals that fade down. And we see that they're coming from little baby Melanoi. Yeah.

She's a baby. And then we see that Cronus is like screaming at her. And he's going, you. Oh, wait, wait.

Yeah. I really enjoy that our Cronus voice is gradually getting more and more muppet-esque over time. I think that's really nice, you know? Yeah.

You know, I think that's appropriate. I think so too. Yeah. And then he goes, I need a new target.

Is that good? That was perfect. Yeah. And we see very concerningly Morpheus's little outline.

So I guess we're supposed to take this to mean that he could have just targeted anyone in the same way using Melanoi by Kipa Cara. Yes. OK, that is my question too. Like, OK, so he just, there was nothing special about Hera besides that he just wanted to fuck with her.

He's a successor. Yeah. Yeah. And then like, OK, does he actually want something from her besides to abuse and harass her?

Is he trying to siphon her life force or something? I mean, could be? I genuinely don't know. What is he planning to do with Morpheus?

I think he might just kind of be a mean fuck, you know? I don't know. Or he's just like, I need someone to tie me into the realm of people outside of Tartarus. I don't know.

I feel like I'm not picking up breadcrumbs here. Because one would think that Cronus has some strategy to return to his full strength or whatever. And one would think that would involve fertility goddesses in some way. Right.

But like, we have no reason to believe either that Hera is a fertility goddess or that he thinks Hera is a fertility goddess. Right. So that wouldn't be why he was bothering Hera. And we also have no reason to think that Morpheus is a fertility goddess.

So that wouldn't be why he's bothering her. Right. So is he just fucking around and finding out? Yeah.

Like, is he just trying to fuck with anyone who he thinks can bring him closer to Persephone? Yeah. But he doesn't think he can fuck with Persephone directly because he's scared of her or something? Truly, I don't know.

I don't know either. But I am eager to find out. But in the meantime, now for something completely different. Yes.

Now we are on to chapter 260. And there is a trigger warning at the beginning of this chapter for themes of grief and loss, specifically of children. So that applies here as well. Yes.

But the chapter is called episode 260. A Lucinian Mysteries, part one. Yeah. Every time it's a multi-parter, you know it's going to be lit.

And the title has my hopes absolutely sky high. Amen. Amen. And we've definitely talked about this a million times.

But if this is your first episode here with Laurel and Pod, there was a cult to Demeter and Persephone called the a Lucinian Mystery Cult. And the a Lucinian Mysteries themselves were like the annual initiation rights and are a mystery. And we don't really know anything about it or the cult or whatever except for like little tiny bits and pieces and speculation. But if you want, we have genuinely tons of material related to the Lucinian Mysteries on our Patreon.

So you can check that out there. You have Go Look For It All. At least, easily five episodes related to it. That's probably true.

Including the most recent one. So check it out. Yeah. And we're picking up.

We're in the mortal realm. And we see these like, Seder, Fon guys, like the bottom half, they have two goat legs. And then they have like, just fuzzy arms. And then they have like, human looking heads with little horns.

A new selection of goat man boyfriends for you, Erin. Amen. Although I will say something about these ones also is evocative of a chicken. I don't know exactly how to describe it.

No, I totally get that. Also something about them just kind of seems like little fucks. Yes. Or as the other goat man was like in control.

He was hot. Yeah. They're not hot. Maybe it's the goat face combined with the humanoid body.

That's probably not the goat face. Body combined with the human body face. I'll be sending Sam these up after our episode concludes. So he knows what to dress as on your honeymoon.

I look, it seems like it would be easier for him to bring goat mass than for him to transform his body into a goat. Yeah. But so these little goat men are like just unloading these boxes. Like they are just the movers of the gods.

And then Hermes arrives. He's carrying one box above his head. And he goes, careful of my delicate. But he's stopped in his tracks by a loud, hey.

And it's Demeter. And she's going, what is all of this? What's going on? And Hermes is like, supplies from the underworld, my lady.

Sign here. And he's now balancing the box of delicates on one finger. He's such a show off. And Demeter's just immediate, gut knee-jerk reaction is take them back is just to be like, the mortal realm is dying.

But I simply won't have boxes from Hades showing up here. Right. And Hermes just looks at her deadpan and is like, Demeter. I did not lug all this cargo from the underworld.

Just the lug gets straight back because of it in-law tiffy-tiff. Sign here. And like, good for you, Hermes. And also, Demeter immediately gives up.

Because she didn't even really want to send it back. She just couldn't resist the chance to be a pill. So here we are. She's like, OK, I do fucking want this.

Fine. Yeah. And as she takes the slipboard to sign, he's like, oh, I have a letter for you, too, from Persephone. And he very dramatically hands her this pink piece of paper.

And it says, mama, I'm so sorry. Please know that I'm working hard to fix all this. I know this can't cover the damage, but hopefully it will still help. Love, Corre.

Yeah. And she closes up the letter. And then somebody's calling Demeter, Demeter. We found her collapsed in the fields.

And we see these nymphs coming up to her with somebody wrapped in a cloak. And Demeter's like, oh my gah. And then Demeter crouches over this poor little figure. And we see that it's he be looking basically unconscious in her cloak.

And Demeter's like, he be what are you doing all the way out here? And one of these nymphs, these nymphs are on it. Demeter has framed them well. She's like, I'm going to go heat up some hot water for a bath because nothing can fix things like a bath.

Amen. And just being warm again. Amen. Amen.

Amen. And frankly, Demeter is an ideal person to have found he be. Like, she will give herself her and protect her no matter what. And if she gets to piss off of Halloween, the process, that's a win.

And even if he did try to murder Zeus, Demeter would have hurt her. All the better. Yeah. This is truly the best case scenario for he be to end up here.

And I love this vignette. This is like, this episode is one of my favorite episodes that has come out of L'Orlympus in a long, like, I don't know. I really loved how this was done. I thought it was done well.

This hit the nail on the head for me. Yeah, this is so good and so powerful. And yeah, really, really wonderful. Because now we're inside and we see hebeys feet are in this like, pale of warm water.

Yeah. And Demeter's asking her, Apollo intimidated you. So you ran. And she's going, he was right though.

That note did make it look like I did it. And she has this huge bowl of warm soup in front of her. Yeah. And she's like wrapped in a big fur.

And like, this bowl cannot be understated how massive this bowl is. It is like the size of her torso. That is exactly how I was going to characterize it. Yes.

It is at least 45 pounds worth of soup. And that's correct. Amen. Thank you, Demeter.

You knew exactly what to do. Yes, yes. And hebeys going on and she goes, and you know how these things go. Rumors stick.
