15-30: A turning point

from Alive & Fragile · host catharaxia

* I finished no books. None of what I’ve been reading felt worth finishing. I did start reading fanfiction again, and, of course, newsletters on here. * The only movie I watched worth sharing is Sheep Detectives. I also saw The Odyssey like everyone else, but you don’t need my suggestion for that one. * I watched The Vampire Lestat. It’s unfair to compare it to Interview with the Vampire. It’s fun, messy, deeply flawed, and salvageable if they get it together next season. * Several albums came across my desk in the latter half of the month that I fell in love with. A quick list: * Oh yeah? by Steve Lacy (predictable of me) * Lovesweet by girlsweetvoiced (won me over) * LOVE IS THE LAW by Love Spells (fiending satiated!) * Music, Fashion, Film by Charli XCX (also won me over) * BONUS: S. E. Rogie’s discography. Perfect music to live in. I love high life. * Here’s July’s playlist. Every song had my heart throughout the month, but “All I Did Was Dream of You” by beababadoobee lingers on the way out. * I’ll also highlight “everybody fits” by Hannah Montijo. I texted her because itching for new music, and this single came out a week or so later. The lord works in mysterious timing. This post will be updated with a YouTube version of the playlist when the time comes. I also created a separate tag page for these voice note entries, half for my own interest, half for yours, that you can find on the home page. Or here, if you’d like. I wasn’t going to do a review post of any kind this month. I honestly got so depressed at one point I wasn’t even listening to music the way I usually do. As usual, looking back to remember and reflect was reassuring. Sometimes all you have to do is keep moving forward. Something arrives eventually. This is a public episode.
