15: What Causes Endometriosis?
from In Sixteen Years of Endometriosis
Episode updated 4/2022. What causes endometriosis? No one knows, but there are various theories. What we do know is that multiple studies have shown that there's many cases of endometriosis where it would be impossible for retrograde menstruation to be the cause, but still ineffective "treatments" for endometriosis are based on this never proven, 100 year old theory, causing ongoing harm to us patients! We discuss the evidence against retrograde menstruation, as well as the theories of embryonic origin, metaplasia, and genetics, and their implication on treatment. 🔗RESOURCES🔗 For clickable links to the resources below, go to insixeenyears.com/episode15 🔗What causes endo? ☀️CONNECT WITH AMY☀️ Instagram @in16yearsofendo Website: www.insixteenyears.com Like my show?
