15: What got you here won't get you there

from Addiction Makes Three

A bit of a pointy episode today. Because while I want to shine a light on this side of addiction. If this is impacting your life, I actually want to help you. So here it is. "What got you here, won't get you there" All the habits, ways of navigating a loved ones recovery addiction, routines and behaviours that got you to this point in life, 'here'. Are not going to get you 'there', to your great life. The next chapter of your life, if you want it to be different and better, requires different from you. And it is you that needs to do that (this is annoying and empowering - trust me!) In this episode, let's have a look at what we might be doing that needs tweaking and how we can bring self awareness to this for change. How frustrating and infuriating is it when you see your loved one do the same things on repeat and you just want to SHAKE THEM into doing something differently so they might get a different and better outcome? ... how might you be doing the exact same thing, but on the other side? Let's talk about changing our course, charting new paths and planting our garden in a different way so that we can live our great life and head to 'there'. Try it - let me know how you get on. The Anonymous Eskimo Podcast Ralph Sara The Anonymous Eskimo Podcast is an Indigenous podcast devoted to uplift Indigenous peoples, with a mission to send hope to those struggling with the negative stigma placed upon mental health issues, the disease of alcoholism, and drug addiction. To also bring awareness to the MMIWG2S & MMIP crisis. Through guests sharing their experiences, inspiration, strength, and hope. I want to break the stigma that is associated with indigenous people, mental health and recovery. Host: Ralph Sara Explicit Openly Terrified Evan Van Helden Hey hey, and welcome to Openly Terrified! I’m Evan—socially awkward, emotionally chaotic, and somehow still choosing to talk into a mic. This little podcast is basically a live-stream of my brain, where all my weird thoughts come to hang out and stretch their legs. Despite being a professional introvert, something about rambling here makes my soul do a happy little dance. So if you’re into overthinking, oversharing, or just vibing in a judgment-free zone—stick around. I saved you a metaphorical beanbag chair. Explicit The Kebab Show Chris McCoy Cecil, Cody, and Chris are three friends who connected in their early years of the military. The three of them were stationed in Sicily together for several years where they all had a blast. Listen in as they discuss the good old times along with guest. They talk about nothing in particular but discuss everything! Explicit Romancing The Screen Katherine O'Keefe, Annie Spong, Rachel Lee Flesher A podcast hosted by three experienced intimacy coordinators — Rachel Lee Flesher (they/she/he), Katherine O’Keefe (she/her), and Annie Spong (she/her). Join them in their warm and inclusive conversations as they delve into the intricate world of their craft, and how it interacts with the production process. They'll also share insightful stories from their experiences on (and off!) set working as ICs. In each episode, they attempt to unravel the standards, culture, and complexities surrounding intimacy and nudity in the entertainment industry, offering their three unique perspectives. As pioneers in a surprisingly new profession, Katherine, Annie, and Rachel aim to demystify the role of intimacy coordinators – addressing the need for ICs and why intimacy coordination is a crucial part of filmmaking. Tune in for enlightening chats from three friends who navigate through nuanced topics with grace and levity. Join us every Wednesday!Art by Jim PayneMusic Composition by Arian Saleh Mus Explicit
