#150 Only 17% of Japanese people have passports

from 1 minute Japanese with Super Simple Japanese · host Super Simple Japanese

The number of the countries you can go with the Japanese passport without visa is the most in the world. But, I read in a book that only 17% of Japanese people have a passport. I thought that was because Japan is an island country and that made us difficult to go abroad. But in the United Kingdom, another island country, 80% of people have a passport.I think the reasons might be the time and effort to get a passport, the weak yen, and language barriers.【Today’s words】それにも関わらず(それにも かかわらず)/ but, nevertheless 島国(しまぐに)/ island country ハードルが高い(はーどるが たかい)/ difficult to do 手間(てま)/ time and effort to do something言語の壁(げんごの かべ)/ language barrier ★This post is also available on the broadcast channel (Japanese daily tips) of my Instagram. 【https://www.instagram.com/channel/AbbOi9lyhNtGwo6A/?igsh=enhqNGRyajhobnZ5】
