1549 || the hard truth about America

It seems like there's nowhere to focus lately except on the crumbling of America’s foundation, but that disregards the fact that America’s foundation was never secure, safe, or fair + at some point, the bottom was going to fall out. It’s unfortunate, the manner in which it did, but it was only a matter of time. And it makes sense that the bad guys got to it first, because the good guys would have wanted to do it safely and consciously, but because the bad guys called out the flawed system first, they get to exacerbate those flaws for their own personal gain until the good guys get enough momentum on their side to reclaim the ground and restore some justice and rebuild on a more solid/equitable/healthy foundation. America has always been built to protect the elite/wealthiest/most racist/performative heteronormative white man’s property and never ever had the interest of the working people in mind.If you have to work for a paycheck, you are the masses that the laws were meant to police. As the hilarious and very real Brennan Lee Mulligan once said “Laws are threats made by the dominant socioeconomic-ethnic group in a given nation. It’s just the promise of violence that’s enacted and the police are basically an occupying army. You know what I mean?”Which brings me to the also relevant wendigoon quote: “And remember kids, the next time that somebody tells you, "The government wouldn't do that," oh yes they would.”Capitalism is a racket that is built to fail.
