161 | Effortless Singing With God: Lessons To Regenerate, With Brooke Wilcox

from Thriving in Christ | Professional Women, High Level Habits, Resilience, Burnout, Stress, Grief · host Dr. Ioana Popa | Psychiatrist Educator, Executive Coach, Speaker & Spiritual Care Formation

I hope you and your family had a blessed Thanksgiving! We had a small family gathering and it was lovely to think of the many ways God is blessing us, especially in unexpected ways. One of the unexpected gifts that I received about 12 years ago was the gift of singing. Although I loved music, I never thought I could sing, until one day when I was invited to chant. My initial output was not spectacular, but my priest reassured me that chanting/singing is praying - which made the entire process so inviting, and motivated me to take singing classes. This mindset shift was so profound for me that it brought me to the place where I could synchronize not only my singing but any activity with the ability to be with God at the same time (BTW - this is the key element in all my programs and coaching). Everything we do can become a form of prayer. And in today's episode, I am interviewing an amazing singer, changer and voice & piano teacher, Brooke Wilcox. In this episode, through our conversation you’ll gain: ✨ Insights into Brooke’s personal journey of faith and its impact on her vocation✨ How Brooke integrates faith and music in her teaching and personal life✨ Practical tips for aligning the mind, body, and spirit through music✨ Lessons from effortless singing and how to apply them in your renewal.
