162. Offline: More Than Just Switching Off

from Way Out · host Mena Santos Galvão

What if the problem isn’t that we’re spending too much time online, but that we’ve stopped choosing when we want to be online?  In this episode, we explore what happens when being online stops being a tool and becomes the environment where our brain lives: on autopilot, constantly looking for the next stimulus.  Being offline can be much more than an activity we do to “switch off”. It can become our natural state: being present, thinking, creating, talking, observing, feeling, enjoying.  And, when we need or want to, we go online. Intentionally.  A conversation about attention, neuroplasticity, creativity and, above all, about reclaiming our freedom to choose where we place our attention.
