Lately, I wanted to have dim sum very much. What is dim sum? In Chinese, there are two meanings for dim sum. In Northern China, generally dim sum refers to dessert. So, dim sum refers to something sweet. On the other hand,  in Southern China, dim sum refers to what we hear all the time, dim sum. This kind of dim sum is various, consisting of different types. Under normal circumstances, people could choose to have it in the morning or in the afternoon. Some elders could spend their whole morning at the dim sum places, reading newspapers while having tea, and having dim sum at the same time. Meanwhile, they would chat with their friends, so having dim sum is also a way of their leisure. What are the common dim sum types? They could be steamed. Also (they) could be fried. For steamed dim sum, shumai is relatively common. Shumai is a kind of dim sum made with pork. Also, har gow is a kind of small dumplings made with shrimps. I personally like these kinds of dim sum very much, as each of the food is relatively little. Therefore, I could have different kinds of food at once. So, have you ever tried dim sum?
