178 | Reclaiming Your Health: Step into Your Vibrant Postpartum Self (& Beyond), with Ashley Lambert

from Thriving in Christ | Professional Women, High Level Habits, Resilience, Burnout, Stress, Grief · host Dr. Ioana Popa | Psychiatrist Educator, Executive Coach, Speaker & Spiritual Care Formation

Here are a couple of good questions to ask yourself daily: did you give to others without replenishing your cup? Did it slip your mind that modeling your self-care and healthy self-love can allow others to see it and then do it, too? In the hustle of bustle of our busy life while leading and caring for others in Christ, it is easy to forget that our joyful and refreshed presence is inspiring to others and has a ripple effect in the world. We need to constantly remind ourself this, and keep gravitating toward joy, gratitude and peace. In psychology, there is an interesting concept of state-dependent memory. This means that whatever we think and feel, if we perseverate, it grows and gets amplified. When we dwell on being negative, our brain pulls more memories with the same mood. When we invite health, joy and positivity, we start dwelling more and more into the 'fruits of the spirit,' exuding them for others. Ashely Perry Lambert and I just had a Renewal Conversation and we unpacked many nuggets of wisdom, including the power of modeling self-care and how to leverage positivity (such as a state of gratitude). She is the creator of the Mama's Golden Era movement, a faith-based health strategy for postpartum women, helping them become strong and energized role models for their families and stepping boldly into everything God has called them to do. And even if your kids are well beyond infancy or you might not have children, you will learn in this Thriving In Christ episode many renewal nuggets: ✨ Modeling self-care shows others that they can care for themselves. ✨ How we can use State-dependent memory to help you retrain your brain to positivity.✨ The importance of lingering in gratitude. And what is her favorite bible verse? It is: "For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." 2 Timothy 2:17 Click PLAY to watch now.
