#180 OnePlan: World's Leading Event Site and Venue Planning Platform.

from The Sports Tech Allstars Podcast · host SportsTechX

In our second week of Innovation in StadiumTech month in partnership with the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga and SportsInnovation 2024, we are joined by Paul Foster, Founder of OnePlan, the events-based software tool radically improving and simplifying how event sites are planned with 3D digital mapping. The company’s digital twin product, Venue Twin, gives organizers virtual access to real-world venues, opening new opportunities for venue owners and operators.  In this conversation, Paul talks about his background in sports - from a team manager of the Great Britain Wheelchair Basketball team, to then advising the UK government, the challenges he faced with operational planning for various events, and how that led to the eventual conceptualization of OnePlan. He then talks about the early inception of 3D Digital Twins and how OnePlan partnered with Epic Games to use Unreal Engine for real-world purposes. Paul also discusses their current projects with the L.A. Clippers and their partnership with the Crypto.com Arena, home of the Los Angeles Lakers, which includes the creation of a 3D digital twin of the iconic arena using the software company’s Venue Twin technology. The Venue Twin at the Clippers’ Experience Center in Downtown Los Angeles enables customers to envision the arena, suites, and surroundings before Intuit Dome opens. In addition to the operational planning benefits, Venue Twin can be used as a sales and marketing tool for advertisers, sponsors, and fans, and enables third-party licensing of official virtual venues as consumer applications for the metaverse open up.
