Joseph Campbell's Hero's Journey - the monomyth that shapes virtually all Western narrative - taught you that transformation looks like: leaving home, slaying dragons, conquering enemies, claiming external rewards, ascending the mountain, returning victorious.Linear. external. achievement-based. conquest-oriented....and it's epic. truly. but it's not your whole story.Because the Heroine's Journey doesn't ascend. she descends. She goes into the underworld ...into her rage, her grief, her desires, the parts she's been taught to exile as "too much" or "not enough." She meets her shadow. She reclaims what was rejected. She discovers that darkness isn't the opposite of life - it's where life begins.ex. Seeds germinate in dark soil. babies grow in dark wombs. stars are born in cosmic darkness. every beginning starts in the unseen.but we've been taught -through centuries of patriarchal / racist / toxic religious/spiritual framing- that light equals good and darkness equals evil. That the descent is suffering. that going inward is indulgent. What if the cave you've been taught to fear is actually where your power lives? What iffffff :)In this episode, I'm sharing Lesson 1 from my LEAD course -The Heroine's Spirillic Journey. We're going to the roots. the foundational work that changes quite literally everything (because how you ORIENT yourself to life is everything):I'm talking about:why the heroine's path spirals instead of climbs (and why you're not broken for not fitting the hero's mold)the sacred necessity of darkness - Kali, Lilith, Hecate, the parts of yourself patriarchy tried to erasemoonlight versus sunlight: the illumination that comes from within, not from external sources demanding you be seen before you're 'ready'why neurodivergent and highly sensitive women experience this journey with particular intensity (the unmasking, the reclaiming, the both/and of being too much and not enough simultaneously)where you might be on the map right now (spiritual aridity? the descent? integration?)the heroine doesn't conquer. she integrates <3
