182 | What Am I Eating For? Developing Conscious Eating Habits for Mind and Soul, with Christina Veselak

from Thriving in Christ | Professional Women, High Level Habits, Resilience, Burnout, Stress, Grief · host Dr. Ioana Popa | Psychiatrist Educator, Executive Coach, Speaker & Spiritual Care Formation

The balance of mind, body, heart, and soul is precious. We often consider feeding the soul and mind with reading and prayer, but how often do you consider eating to nourish your mind and soul? There are always times when we find ourselves eating unhealthier. Usually, those times are when we're stressed out, when life seems to take control, and we have very little time to think about much else than what is in front of us. This is when we should pause and ask ourselves, "What am I eating for?" In this episode, I speak with Christina Veselak. We discuss food and how what we put into our bodies affects us on many levels. Christiana is a counselor, mental health nutritionist, and a priest's wife. In her work, she is addressing many of the biochemical aspects of mental health and addictive disorders, including sugar, using dietary and supplement recommendations. ✨ Her favorite bible verse: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such, there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23. In this Renewal Conversation episode, Christina poses crucial questions about nourishing ourselves and gives practical tips on renewing our bodies through food. ✨ How to feed our bodies and our minds on a cellular level.✨ How to connect food with conscious thought. ✨ Discovering a new way to think about food and incorporating this practice into your daily routines. ✨ Practical tips to help you eat to nourish yourself.
