Welcome to EKA184! Today we are joined by the incomparable Chris Broach of Braid, The Firebird Band, L'Spaerow, SNST, and most recently...Chris Broach and the Foundation! We talk early days of emo, from touring with American Football and The Get Up Kids to the end of Braid, his thoughts on third wave emo, emo revival, and so much more. We discuss the end of Braid, the reunions, and what "went wrong" for the band in the 90's that led to their break up. Along with this, we touch on all of his other projects from The Firebird Band up until his recent solo endeavor and the new band he has formed for it. Chris is a guy who is constantly chasing something new in the best way and doesn't seem to want to rest on his laurels. The term "novelty" comes up in a very positive way at multiple points and I think it greatly describes his musical pivots over the last 3 decades. Along with the music stuff we also touch on fatherhood and parenting, which is Chris's #1 priority today, as well as the uhh...state of America and the doofuses in charge of it along with our theories for what has caused this mess.
