Most college students are aware that they 1) have a bank account, and 2) you have to deposit money into this account if you’re going to make a lot of withdrawals. Too many withdrawals? Yup, here comes that “low balance” alert. But how often are we paying attention to our “emotional bank balance”? In this week’s episode, we discuss the importance of depositing and accumulating positive emotions to build up an emotional reserve. Stressors in college are unpredictable and at times unrelenting. When you start noticing you are having a lot of withdrawals to your mood, you usually start to be less happy, irritable, and less motivated. Because withdrawals are inevitable, we need to be more mindful of doing things consistently that lead to positive emotions.
