花蓮發現新堰塞湖，地點就在太魯閣國家公園燕子口，而且堰塞湖水位持續上升，由於距離台8線道路僅260公尺，堰塞湖可能在蓄滿前，即沿靳珩隧道往東溢流。依照陽明交大團隊估算，堰塞湖蓄水量約270萬噸，一旦潰決，恐怕50分鐘就會抵達下游錦文橋。總統賴清德高度關切，並在第一時間立即指示行政院相關部會，與花蓮縣政府保持密切聯繫，全面啟動緊急應變機制，採取即時且必要的因應措施，全力確保民眾安全。縣府已經要求民樂部落、下游以及及東部電廠員工強制撤離。 -- Hosting provided by SoundOn
