196. How To Be Authentic

"Be strong, don't cry, suppress your emotions and strive to meet your parents' every expectation." In this episode we are talking about losing our authenticity as a result of parental expectation. This divergence between your true self and your external persona can have immense consequences, such as entering into relationships with individuals who are drawn to the false image you project. Over time, you may become a people pleaser, prioritizing the needs of others at the expense of your own. It's easy to lose sight of your own authentic needs in the process.
