1991 Velvi - How does stillness help us to find peace? 1991 முதல் வேள்வி - சும்மா இருக்கும் நிலை எப்படி உள் அமைதியை ஏற்படுத்தும்?

from Santhosam Podcast: Guiding Light of Spiritual Wisdom · host Santhosam

That Supreme being which governs the gross body, subtle body, and causal body is 'Purusha'. Purusha is not the physical body, Atma is indeed Purusha. When Purusha (spirit) engages with ‘Prakriti’ (matter), it creates the world we perceive and leads to suffering. This phenomenon is referred to as samsara, as we become bound and experience cycles of joy and sorrow.Samsara : Atma assumes a body to transform into Jiva and becomes attached to that body. An analogy: When someone takes a photograph with a camera, if the photographer believes they are the camera, which is merely a tool (similar to how Jiva perceives itself as the body), then the avidya (incorrect knowledge) causes immense suffering. People identify with and cling to their body, mind, and intellect, thus experiencing sorrow in this samsaric cycle.Samsaric suffering arises not from forgetting our true nature as Atma but from a feeling of separation from God. A person who perceives every object as Atma experiences no suffering.God is one, and that one is you. When multiple mirrors are arranged around, even if their shapes differ, we still see our own reflection only. This embodies the profound truth “Thou Art that” (அது நீ). When this knowledge is transformed into experience, it becomes wisdom. Now, after Velvi, they provide free meals (Annadhanam). Do we consider whether the Guru eats enough? We focus on satisfying our own hunger. Gurumahaan humorously remarks that even if everything is ONE, each person’s hunger is distinct. Guru also mentions that some devotees approach with requests, saying there are many issues in their family, please resolve them through penance, or asking for help in finding a groom for their daughter. For all worldly matters, we seek Guru’s assistance, yet food is something we manage on our own. If I were to eat for a day on your behalf, could you survive? :) remarks Gurumahaan! The wise ones (self-realized masters) are always awake while the whole world sleeps. They serve as the protectors of the world during the night. In the state of sleep, our mental patterns come to light through our dreams. If our dreams are positive, it indicates that our consciousness is pure and virtuous. The outer world is a reflection of our inner consciousness. We perform all actions and attribute the outcomes (if unfavorable) to destiny. When God (Paramporul), who is all-present and all-knowing, is everready to shower blessings abundantly, there is a small catch. Only those who earnestly seek God will receive these blessings. We often find ourselves engrossed in the material world, neglecting our connection with God. When someone meditates on the Supreme and sheds even a single tear of gratitude, divine grace shall flow through them.Individuals pursue satisfaction through their senses and rarely pause to consider the source of true, lasting happiness.“Be still and behold the truth” does not imply merely sitting quietly with closed ears and eyes. We might be physically meditating, yet our minds can wander across the globe. Turning our mind inwards will enable inner stillness. The joy that emerges from this inner peace is beyond verbal expression. It must be experienced firsthand. A Guru may offer various comparisons, such as tasting a fruit or enduring pain or illness. Only through personal experience can we truly grasp these subtle concepts. To realize God, the subtlest of all, nearer than the nearest, we require the third eye (wisdom eye or forehead eye), much like needing binoculars to see distant objects clearly.Send us Fan MailLet Wisdom Flourish!Let Peace Prevail!
