#20 Aja Hudson (Landscape Designer) / Emily Vail (Estuary Watershed) "Working Cooperatively and Protecting our Lands and Water"

from i want what SHE has · host Shana Falana and Theresa Widmann

Yeah, yeah, another unenlightened man said something shocking about a woman's place in the world. How do we help people be teachable in these moments? We don't know the answer, but we banter about it today. We gush about Radio Kingston and the power in community radio to present diverse voices and stories so that we can all live more happily together! Executive director and landscape designer at Earth Designs Cooperative, Aja Hudson joins us in studio and talks about how she learned to prioritize life after cancer with a young daughter by building a worker cooperative and why it's important for us to start moving towards the cooperative model of living and working. Emily Vail, Estuary Watershed Outreach Specialist at New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and swing dancer and teacher at Uptown Swing, talks about her work studying streams and how this work helps connect the dots across many facets of where we live as she learned when studying the Tannery Brook in Kingston, NY. Next week we hear interviews with New Paltz High Schoolers Jordan and Emma about their involvement with Girl's Inc. and their experience making their own podcasts on Toxic Masculinity and Conditioning Sexism as well as Allison Lieber who licenses music for bands. Until then, uplift yourself and love one another.
