#20 Duendes & Aluxes: Legends of Little People in Latin America

from Paranormal Community College · host Paranormal Community College

In nearly every corner of the world, on every continent, and within almost every culture that calls this planet home, there are stories of strange, small beings that occasionally step into our world. Existing in another realm alongside ours, these beings have been called fairies, brownies, the aos si, and the little people. In Africa, they are called the Yumboes. In China, it is the Mogwai who haunt the forest. As far as the pristine waters of Hawaii, there are stories of the Menehunes - a race of small, mischievous beings that lived in the forests and in caves. But in Mexico, Spain, Portugal, the Philippines, and other parts of Latin America, they are called the Duende, or sometimes, the Alux. Are these stories purely mythological? Or, could the stories of modern-day duende sightings be true?
