20. Make Failure Your Friend

from YES MUJER BUILD IT · host Wendy Amara

What do you feel when you think of failure? What if everything you want is on the other side of that failure? In this episode, Wendy talks about how important it is to accept failure as a part of the journey. She explains that failure can make us feel uncomfortable and make us avoid trying new things, but wants us to understand that failure is actually how we succeed. Wendy shares her own experiences in starting a business and tells us that the more she got used to failing, the more she succeeded. She says that when we can handle failure, it helps us figure out what works and what doesn't, so we can reach success faster. Wendy says that we should see failure as a step forward and the key is to Fail Forward! She also tells us to be friends with failure in our everyday lives. Wendy suggests that we should expect to fail sometimes and use it as a way to learn and improve.Everyone has experienced failure in their life at some point.  She recommends writing down what goes wrong when we fail and what we learn from it. This way, we can use failure to make progress and move forward. Wendy explains that when we take on new challenges and try new things, we will face failure along the way. These challenges and setbacks are a normal part of the process. But she says we should see these failures as signs that we are getting closer to our goals. Failure can be like a guide, showing us the right path. It's okay to feel guilty or embarrassed when we make mistakes. But we don't have to feel bad. We can reframe how we feel and look at failure the way scientists do, as part of every process. Wendy brings up examples like Martha Stewart to show that even successful people have failed at some point. This helps us see that everyone goes through failure, and it's okay as long as we learn from it and keep going. In this episode, you'll learn:The importance of reframing failure: Discover how changing your perspective on failure can help you embrace it as a natural part of personal growth and development. The power of failure as a learning tool: Explore how failure can offer valuable lessons by asking three critical questions: What went wrong?
