200 Americans Stranded on Iraq Base. No Plan. No Evacuation. No One Coming. Attack Imminent.

The Guardian just broke a story that should be front page news. More than 200 American contractors are stranded on a military base near Baghdad with no evacuation plan. Roads are too dangerous, airspace is closed, and Iran-backed militants on and around the base are reportedly gathering intelligence for an attack once Ramadan ends this week. The defense contractor V2X is refusing to evacuate because the Iraqi government threatened to cancel their $118 million contract. The company is sending daily emails saying there’s no drone activity while contractors hear shooting and see drones overhead. The US military evacuated its own personnel from Kuwait before the war started but made no plan for civilian contractors. The same administration that spent $11.3 billion in the first week of this war can’t get 200 Americans off a base.
