#206 “That” is so good

#2062025/11/26（火） “That” is so good 2年くらい前、Netflixのドラマを見ていたのですが、男の人が、彼女が作ったスープを飲んで、”That is so good.”と言いました。私はそのとき、今までにないくらいびっくりしました😂なんで”that”なの？！と思ったからです。日本語では、目の前にある食べ物の感想を言うとき、”これ(This)は美味しい”と言うからです。これが教科書で習わない英語か、と思った瞬間でした。にねんくらいまえ、ねっとふりっくすの どらまを みていたのですが、おとこの ひとが、かのじょが つくった すーぷを のんで、”That is so good.”といいました。わたしは そのとき、いままでに ない くらい びっくりしました。なんで”that”なの？！とおもったからです。にほんごでは、めのまえにある たべものの かんそうを いうとき、”これ(This)は おいしい”というからです。これが きょうかしょで ならわない えいごか、とおもった しゅんかんでした。About two years ago, in a Netflix drama I was watching at the time,a man ate the soup his girlfriend had made and said, “That is so good.”I’ve never been surprised before.I thought, “Why ‘that’?”In Japanese, when commenting on food in front of you, you say, “‘This’ is delicious.”That was the moment I realized this was English not taught in textbooks.【Today’s words】目の前（めのまえ）/ in front of you感想（かんそう）/ comment, opinion 瞬間（しゅんかん）/ moment 習う（ならう）/ to learn something from someone ★This post is also available on the broadcast channel (Japanese daily tips) of my Instagram. 【https://www.instagram.com/channel/AbbOi9lyhNtGwo6A/?igsh=enhqNGRyajhobnZ5】
