209 | Myrrhbearing Women: Building Healing Communities, With Elissa Bjeletich Davis

from Thriving in Christ | Professional Women, High Level Habits, Resilience, Burnout, Stress, Grief · host Dr. Ioana Popa | Psychiatrist Educator, Executive Coach, Speaker & Spiritual Care Formation

Struggling to experience true joy? Many people do, and often, this journey is not experienced without difficulty - BUT it doesn't have to. My guest this week experienced burnout, and it wasn't until after a major life event that she realized what brought her true joy and how to overcome the struggle of overwhelming emotions. And now, she is committed to seeking the joy that fills each day. This joyful Christian I had the privilege of interviewing is Elissa Bjeletich Davis, an author, podcaster, and Christian servant leader who loves Orthodox Christian ministry for all ages. She and her husband, Chris, live in a house full of kids near Austin, TX. In this episode, Elissa and I talk about: 🔅 The power of giving yourself permission to PAUSE. 🔅 The impact of community and what that means for yourself, internally, as well as a member of the church.🔅 Patience, Stewardship, God's timing and Co-Creation.🔅 A simple nugget from neuroscience. Elissa's Bible verse that has gotten her through many trials is this: Philippians 4:6 NKJV "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God."
