from Sacred Femme Alchemy · host Lisa May Francisco

Welcome to Season 2 Ep. 21 of the HeartStream Musings podcast. In this episode I sit down with Erika Lim, an occupational therapist and death doula, to share her perspective on how to welcome death spiritually, figuratively, and emotionally into our lives no matter where we are in relation to it. ERIKA LIM BIO Erika is an occupational therapist and death doula. While she finds end of life a ripe time for unearthing love, meaning, and peace, she is most fascinated in the rich learnings of the life and death cycles that happen in our everyday life. She believes that if we can approach death with a bit more curiosity and acceptance, it can reveal truths about how we want to live. In this episode, we dive deep on: What is a death doula? How a death doula can help you navigate death and dying process with family or loved ones What it means to create meaning and peace in the sacred time of death and passing Practicing quality care as a death doula with no restrictions to create peace for the family Viewing death as a natural rite of passage to lean into Different ways to work with a death doula  Rituals and ceremony to honor the dying Accepting change and impermanence through the lens of death Holding space for death in a sacred way and processing emotions  The personal internal work Erika does to step into her role as a death doula Sharing what happens when the ego comes in her work and not listening to the “shoulds” Acknowledging endings of chapters in your own life through rituals Exercise of keeping and releasing to create sacred integration  Saying goodbye to your own patterns and narratives Erika’s own personal journey that led her to being a death doula Intuitive internal downloads and flow when you’re in your dharma and doing spirit work When to work with a death doula, especially when you’re young and healthy The radical perspective of richness in death What is the best 3 months protocol according to a death doula  WORK WITH ME 1:1 Coaching - We begin in November!
