212. Calling VP Kamala Harris half Black and half Indian or Asian makes no sense

We have lost yet another teachable moment in debates over the race of Vice President Kamala Harris. Americans just don’t understand the complexity of race, ethnicity, and nationality in America. Some cannot be “Half Black and half Indian.” This is saying that someone is half a race and half a nationality. They are 2 different things. Like if I bring religion into it and say someone is half British and half Muslim. VP Harris’ beautiful culture and heritage should be reason to celebrate and to learn more about the diverse heritages that exist in America.
