213. What Joe Scarborough, Stephanie Ruhle, and others don't want to admit about the 2024 election
from The UPstander's Podcast with Dr. Omekongo · host Dr. Omekongo Dibinga
Too many journalists and show hosts do not want to fully confront the fact that race and misogyny played a bigger factor on the election than the economy. Many will say yes it was a problem or that it should be something to discuss later and then go straight to the economy, male loneliness, etc. Going back to how owners of the enslaved got their land back and even reparations after the Civil War, this country has never fully reckoned with America's history of racism and also misogyny. As Jay-Z said, you can't heal what you don't reveal. Not confronting this head on is why this program will continue. Trump knows this country better than most and knew it would pick a convicted rapist, misogynist, anti-Semite, Islamophobe, and insurrectionist as long as he promised to protect whiteness, including women that he vowed to protect whether they "like it or not." #joescarborough #stephanieruhle #eddieglaudejr #election #biden #kamala #upstander Learn more about your ad choices.
