#22 Mark Randall – The Emotionally Intelligent Trader, Risk Management & The Fundamentals of Trading

Mark Randall is a market veteran with over 40 years’ experience as a frontline broker for financial and commodities markets at a major investment bank. He has worked as a futures trader to institutional clients, the first technical analyst of NatWest and part of the first team within NatWest to understand and teach applications of options trading. Mark subsequently went on to become the director of EMEA business development at RBS and a lead driver of RBS futures corporate strategy. In the latter stages of his career, Mark became more and more fascinated with the mental, emotional, psychological, and behavioural challenges people face when encountering risk and uncertainty in financial markets. This has resulted in him co-hosting the AlphaMind podcast, where he interviews experienced traders, investment professionals, analysts, psychologists, coaches, authors, and experts in fields relating to trading, financial markets, and risk.With a huge surge in retail investors as of recently, I sat down with Mark to discuss the different aspects of trading and investing. From the average guy to the professional trader, what are the key principles that are required to be successful.
