Send us Fan MailMr. Tom Paddon is a mining executive from North West River in Labrador and is the Chairman of Baffinland Iron Mines, Ltd.  He gave a keynote at #TheCentralMINEX2024 and it was so interesting we wanted to feature it on our podcast. The company developed Canada’s newest and most northerly iron ore mine, the Mary River Project, located on Baffin Island in the Qikiqtaaluk region of Nunavut, which began shipping ore to market in the fall of 2015. Tom’s experience in building and operating projects in Canada’s north has involved successfully reconciling the commercial interests of de  velopers with the rights of indigenous peoples and strict environmental performance standards. He is an Honorary Captain in the Royal Canadian Navy, the founding Chairman of the Arctic Economic Council, a Fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, an ArcticNet board member, and an ardent supporter of the Arctic Inspiration Prize.Gale Force Wins started out simply as an inspirational podcast releasing episodes wherever you get your podcasts every Tuesday evening.
