237. A Window Into CHILDHOOD EMOTIONAL NEGLECT

from Dear Little Me

Childhood emotional neglect, CEN, child abuse, domestic violenceChildhood emotional neglect is a silent yet insidious form of abuse that leaves a profound impact on an child's emotional well-being. It is characterised by an environment where a child's needs are consistently disregarded and unmet. In this episode, Susannah tells her heartbreaking story. From her first experience of being left in a cot for hours, alone and crying, to years of domestic violence where Susannah would watch on as a frozen spectator. Susannah’s mother showed no affection, did not express love and would barely make eye contact with her daughter much of the time. A huge part of Susannah’s healing has been in writing beautiful poetry. You can connect with susannah on Instagram at Window Pain Poetry www.instagram.com/windowpain_poetry and Window Light Healing www.instagram.com/windowlight_healingFOR AD-FREE LISTENING & SUBSCRIBER ONLY EPISODES, JOIN DEAR LITTLE ME & YOU for just $5 a month via the Apple Podcasts App or go to Supercast to join if you listen via Spotify or any other platform https://dearlittleme.supercast.com/If you have a story to share for this podcast please connect with me at www.instagram.com/mybigloveproject or send an email to [email protected].
