24. 6 Ways to Prepare for Back to School Now!

from Equipping ELLs

As a teacher, you’ve worked hard and earned your much-needed summer break. I hope rest, relaxation, and recharging are at the top of your to-do list this summer. As wonderful as summer is, we know it will come to an end. Before you know it, it’ll be August. You’ll hit the ground running with very little time to reflect. It’s important to take a little time now at the very end of the school year to do a brain dump. Reflecting for even just 15-20 minutes while the school year is fresh in your mind is such a good way to wrap up the year. Plus, if you write out some things that went well and some areas that could have gone better, you’ll have a guide going into the next school year that will help you forge a clear path and plan. If you’re tired of going into the new school year already feeling behind, you may want to spend a little time each week during the summer preparing for the year ahead. Don’t worry…I’m talking an hour or less each week.In this episode, I’m sharing 6 things you can do this summer to prepare for the year ahead. These quick strategic tasks will help you be prepared and ahead of the game when August rolls around. Plus you’ll still have plenty of time to enjoy your summer break and unwind. Over the next few weeks, I’ll go into more depth on each of these topics, and next week I’ll share more about the challenge that goes along with this, the prizes you can win, and how to make sure that you don’t miss out on the fun.
