243. Liz Cruz – Emotional Intelligence is Critical for Leadership

from Enlightenment of Change · host Connie Whitman

Connie's motivational quote for today is by – Marshall B. Rosenberg, "We are dangerous when we are not conscious of our responsibility for how we behave, think, and feel."     YouTube: https://youtu.be/luQqcAC32XY   Check Out These Highlights:  I love this quote as it allowed me the opportunity to reflect on my career and look at my personal evolution of becoming more emotional intelligence and the impact it has had y my life and career.  I have come to realize that this was a skill I had to learn and develop over time and was not necessarily natural for me.   So, what were some of the big lessons I learned?     Things like, how to become more empathetic by connecting deeply with my clients, then deeply with my sales teams, deeply with my husband and kids, and now deeply with my clients.  As I look back, I personally understand the importance and beauty of being an Emotional Intelligent leader in our world.  We have multiple roles in life and Emotional Intelligent (EI) helps with everything we do and with every person we engage with.   What's the impact?    Great and deeper connections with everyone in my life both personally and professionally.  Those relationships matter and for me are the cornerstone of my business and how I engage with my clients!    About Liz Cruz (she/they): Liz is the Founder & Principal of Liz Cruz Consulting. Prior to leading her practice, Liz spent over 10 years in the corporate space (retail and technology) as a coach, leadership development, program leader, and organizational effectiveness consultant. Liz enjoys working with a diverse mix of clients; a special area of focus is LGBTQ+ leadership development.   Liz's approach is informed by her deeply held belief that each of us is inherently brilliant, and that the best solutions to our leadership challenges are found in our deep knowledge of ourselves. She is an eternal optimist, a queer leadership fanatic, a frequent teller of not-that-funny jokes, a lifelong artist (current love: watercolor), relentlessly curious, a deep empath, and despite all outward appearances, definitely an introvert.   How to Get in Touch With Liz Cruz: Email:  [email protected] Website:  https://Lizcruzconsulting.com   Stalk me online!
